Now? Yes. In 40 years? No.Would people be upset if the Enterprise era was reimagined?
No, because it would be bypassed with some alternate universe bullshit.Would people be upset if the Enterprise era was ignored per se with another prequel that represented an origin and new beginning?
And to think how quicky some people discard the alternate timeline theory (The whole ENT taking place in the alternate timeline created by the Borg incursion in First Contact)...PICARD: Centuries ago, disasterous contact with the Klingons led to decades of war, and it was decided then, that we would do surveillance before making first contact.

It was meant as a hyperbole. Now? Yes. In 40 years? No.Would people be upset if the Enterprise era was reimagined?
In 40 years I might well be dead. This reboot better happen a lot quicker than that because I do not want to miss anything.
Wasn't that ENT's actual tagline? As long as the original cast is fit enough to parade around in their underwear, who the hell cares about canon?![]()
Well, if that were the case, "In a Mirror, Darkly" and "These Are the Voyages" wouldn't have been able to directly link to "The Tholian Web" and "The Pegasus" as they did. I think we're supposed to just... pretend the discontinuities don't exist.
To be honest, I would. Things would get even more confusing than they are now. I think a better idea would be for them to continue what they started in pre-TATV season 4. That's what I'd really love to see.Would people be upset if the Enterprise era was reimagined and/or ignored per se with another prequel that represented an origin and new beginning?
Well, we all know the Captain at least is.As long as the original cast is fit enough to parade around in their underwear, I don't want any replacements.

Its a throw away line that's vague on details. Who really knows what happened and who exactly it refers to. Could be first contact beween the Klingons and the Vulcans. By Picard's time "we" doesn't mean human.Enterprise already was the reimagined past of Star Trek. And I say that as a fan who loved the show (well.... most of it)
From TNG's "First Contact"....
PICARD: Centuries ago, disasterous contact with the Klingons led to decades of war, and it was decided then, that we would do surveillance before making first contact.
Now watch "Broken Bow". None of those things happened. They introduced the Temporal Cold War as a handwavium "things might be a little different to how they originally were" type thing - to excuse their blatant rewrites.
Besides, Picard could have always been referring to that whole period of 2151-2155. A first contact leading to the Klingons nearly being wiped out by a human virus, forcing them to deface their own bodies in order to cure it, could be considered a pretty disastrous situation that led to decades of war.Its a throw away line that's vague on details. If the guy who wrote the line ( Dennis Bailey aka My Name Is Legion) thinks it works fine with Broken Bow, I don't see a real problem. Hell, even if he didn't I don't.
If you play the continuity error = different universe game, every other episode of TOS would be in a different universe.![]()
They don't permit it, because it would be a financial disaster. Funny how companies don't permit investments they can determine to be foolish. That's why ENT was canceled in the first place. While I'd prefer a Season 5... clearly CBS won't permit anything even resembling that to happen.
