Best Picard episodes?

That said, for the n'th time, I really believe it would be beneficial for BillJ, Alrik, Sindatur, and the other posters in their camp of "all opinions are equal" actually to take the specific advice in my post here http://www.trekbbs.com/showpost.php?p=6001261&postcount=84 . I believe that if you are able to learn to appreciate the nuances and power of the episode, you will be less likely to get distracted by irrelevant matters.

I have no doubt that you three's first reaction will be able to fire off some deprecating comment or lodge a complaint with another moderator. But rather than do that, why not take about the same amount of time, trust that I have indeed watched the episodes I cite in the post many times - I own them on DVD and one on Blu-ray- and ask, is that posts's advice really that implausible? Take a few minutes, literally, and watch a few scenes in a few episodes again, with specific attention to the specific issues I raise.

After a total of 11 years here at TBBS, I have not once contacted a Mod to step in on my behalf. I'm not about to start now. I seriously considered just letting this go, but where's the fun in that?

I have taken the time to read through each link provided (there's several precious minutes of my life I'm not getting back). While they do contain some valid information and note worthy perspective, I would ask if its possible to be any more condescending? Then again by doing that, I have the feeling that a way would be found. I was left with the vision of a series of grade school report cards. On all, the marks themselves are fine, but the comment field on each included the same observation, 'Does not play well with others'.

Considering the fact that I didn't actually opine on the merits of the episode, but simply supported the ideal of to each their own, I'll stick to freedom of choice. I don't care if you think you are Dictator of the World (this is where I would probably make a reference to the condescending tone that your posts have, but I'll leave it to the reader's imagination), you have absolutely no business trying to tell others how to enjoy their TV watching experience. Berating someone because they have no desire to be the next Roger Ebert when they're watching a TNG episode is beyond laughable. If you choose to continue with the authoritarian and abrasive posting style, don't be too shocked if people quit replying.

The funny thing is, Roger Ebert shot to fame precisely because of his disagreements with his bff Siskel. If it wasn't for that interplay that depended so much on the simplicity of being allowed to have a different opinion, he wouldn't be able to truly hone his Pulitzer-prize winning analytical skills. Also, Ebert's no pushover, but whenever he concedes it's no big thing, as long as the exchange is done respectfully and he learns something new.
