c2290 Federation Ship

Patrickivan

Fleet Captain
Newbie
Here’s my first post TNG series type vessel. It’s along the same line as my TNG type gig, except this is modelled after the Sovereign Class.

The nacelles are modelled off of the Nova Class type. It's larger then my last one, but not much bigger.

Wow, the radical asymmetry is daring.
-joking- :)
Nice design, I like how you always consider the interior spaces.
I like these small ships...seems in-universe we would have seen them all over the place.

Looks good so far :) :techman:

Thanks!

Heh... You should see the section cut views then! It looks like it's crewed by the headless horsemen.

I haven't posted in a bit- but I'd been working on some stuff still. Mainly the M/ARC and PTCs, and some interface consoles. It's fun because I've never done anything TNG.

Oh, you mean 2390 then? Interesting design so far.

Crap. I can't believe I put the wrong date down. Does recovering from a mind bending bout of vertigo count as a defence?

That, or just say that you were drunk. :bolian:

I wish I could have. I'd have rather gone through my worst hangover then go through vertigo- again! I'm still a little off and on.

Anyway. Anyone have any ideas for class names for this one (and my 2360 one for that matter)? I'm a little stuck. And I'm trying to think of tasking for these ships. I'm thinking coast guard type stuff. Small, respectively fast, lightly crewed... Great for monitoring shipping lanes and piracy.

I've always imagined that for the most part, all the federation problems were small compared to the grand adventures of our heros. Mostly that of a dull, peaceful society.

And another in progress... I've come to appreciate the parallel between trek and our time, with curvey naval vessels becoming more angular and sharp looking.

Interesting design. Not sure what I think about that front window but a very cool ship, none the less.

I don't mind the window. Nice that smaller vessels mirror their larger counterparts.
Like how standard shuttlecraft better match the Caracal, say...

sexy ship :techman:

Oh she's blushing! :luvlove:

That window was actually a pain in the butt. A lot more convoluted then my earlier 2350 ship... But I'm glad someone doesn't mind it. I'm considering changing it for the 3rd time.

What was so hard about the window? You make a shape with the outline you like, extrude it into the hull, intersect the two then erase the parts of the extrude you don't need leaving the outline in the hull.

Pfh- you jest! That's not how it's done... ;)

But ya- I know. What I meant was that the window was a pain in the butt in the sense that I'm not happy with how it looks.

It looks an awsome ship:techman:

Thanks!
