How the HELL did Happily Divorced get a second season?

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
TV land is producing 80s comedies staring 90s actors and actresses... But am I really expected to believe that they only need to generate 70s ratings to count their original media as a success?

I suppose most anything is better than reruns of F-troop?

What would you rather watch...

A new Episode of Terra Nova (if there were any.)?

A new Episode of Alcatraz?

Or a rerun of F-troop?

10 episodes last year.

Episode 10 had Mr Sheffield on site as a sexually dubious billionaire who Fran and her husband were bickering about which one of them was the object of his affection until...

I remember seeing Fran in This is Spinal Tap, and thinking "Dear lord, how old is she!?"

After 20 years of marriage Fran Dresher's husband informs her that he's gay and that he's leaving her... Checks his finances, apologises and moves into the guestroom off the lounge area.

So it's the super ultimate "odd couple" who get into hilarious hijinks every week.

If you miss the nanny, it's a poor substitute, other than it's still being made.

If you miss The Nanny you have no right to complain about this new show getting a second season.

I never understood why Fran feels it necessary to use that fake voice and laugh. It's obviously screwing her vocal cords up at this point and not really needed for the role.

There's still tons of people who liked and remember The Nanny and i guess this is why this show exists.. god knows it's not the acting ability, voice or looks (nowadays) of Fran Drescher.

She's TV B-list level and while still having a recognizable name can't be too expensive so i guess it's better than nothing until something really better comes along.

Yes, because that's the deal for TV Land.
I don't get why you are upset. Are there other sitcoms TV Land have cancelled you would have seen renewed?

Dude, F-Troop.

Terra Nova was idiotic, and I'd need a gun to my head to watch more shit from JJ Abrams.

Fun-Troop!

All the comedies I like are destroyed by the industrialmilitarysupercomplex.

They're expected to generate unrealistic audiences.

CBS, NBC, ABC, others... They want BILLIONS to supplicate their sponsers.

TV land on the other hand needs 10 people to watch Retired at 35 and they're golden.

It's sob, sob just not sob, fair.

You haven't seen retired at 35?

RUN!

Good god... take some Xanax.

I see what you were trying to do but I'm pretty sure most TV shows today would kill for the ratings shows got in the 70s.

Guy, I'm gonna assume you're a bedridden shut-in with a defective TV that gets stuck on various programs and channels. Or you're a masochist.

They're not terribly good shows, the original programming on TV Land, but they don't particularly bother me either.

Oh, and F-Troop.
