Is there any Chance that Arnold was Mr Drummond's Bilogocal Child?

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
It's been nigh 20 years since I saw this series, and I really didn't question the situation at the time that saw two ghettorats living with a second rate Howard Hughes, but they were, as I am sure you know, the dead maids leftovers.

Mr Drummond's maid.

Probably for decades.

Looking at how he was flirting with Mrs Garret on her first day during the pilot, I can only imagine that with a woman he spent decades with in close proximity with, that clothing was optional while she was dusting and polishing... And it was the 70s, and she was black and married, so of course they'd obfuscate his involvement in making those two fine boys.

If Arnold and Willis were not secretly Phill's kids, I can only imagine from the awful acting and the diabolical dialogue that he has a tumour which is generating erratic and absurd behaviour to explain why Mr Drummond takes on the helps orphan progeny...

Do you watch the Practice?

6 or 7 millionary Doctors.

Their sexy surferboy secretary died tragically, and they all looked at one another guiltylike to to see who would lose at the game of emotional chicken and volunteer to adopt dead surfer boy secretaries 6 year old little girl... No one blinked and they sent her off to a group home to be victimized tortured and probably sexually assaulted. They don't talk about it much any more. Either because of the guilt or because they're fictional characters. Who can say?

Now, how they behaved was awful.

They are awful human beings.

But it's real.

You can see their motivations.

They're assholes.

But Drummond?

What's his angle?

Honest to god, if Arnold and Willis were Mr Drummond's Kids, that would make them viable for organ harvesting if he got into any real trouble down the line, and lets face it, even the actor was pushing 60, or looked like he was pushing 60, so the character would have to be a fool to let those sets of kidneys just wander off into the downturn of Harlem to be eaten by drugs and gang violence.

Imagine that you're dying, and on your deathbed, and you ask your employer to look after your brats for the next 12 to 18 years?

What sort of relationship would you have had to have had with your employer for them not to laugh in your face?

You know the answer is "Sexual"

The answer has to be sexual.

But even if he was sleeping with their mother, that doesn't that mean that Arnold and Willis were absolutely his children? but it remains a possibility...

What do you think?

The suggestion that Drummond secretly sired two kids with his maid so he could raise them after her death to harvest their organs if need be is both brilliant and hilarious. Time for a reboot of Different Strokes!

Then you should watch the Venture Bros.

The father, a middle aged parody of Johnny Quest, tells his sons to draw straws, because one of them is giving him a kidney.

Shortly, they both woke up from a gas attack only to find that he couldn't chose either, and took a kidney from each of his sons.

Dark and gritty, of course!

The last minutes of the original pilot had the boys in their underwear, in a hot tub, with Drummond hugging and kissing them. Seriously. He was kissing them. Tops of their heads where their hair is, but he was still hugging two wet and slippery young boys, who were hugging and kissing(?) him back clambering all over each other affectionately.

Obviously this was the money shot where the characters bonded, where they accepted him as their new father in the bonds of love & vice versus... But these three people had seriously only met a few hours earlier for the first time, and to me, it just looked dodgy that something like this would happen so quickly.

...

I'm pretty sure that something similar to this, with a parent forced to adopt his mistresses baby so that the wife doesn't find out about his infidelity, and he can raise his daughter as his own, is happening in The Lying Game.

I was just talking about Green Acres with my bf last night. His three least favorite TV characters of all time - because they are so catastrophically annoying - are Larry David's character from Curb Your Enthusiasm, Lisa Douglas (Eva Gabor) and Gilligan.

Guy, your assignment is to come up with a TV show that uses all three as the lead characters. We're depending on you. PS, the more mayhem it involves, the better.

I hate to see how the darker and grittier version of the episode where Arnold and Dudley befriend Mr. Horton the child molester turns out.

That episode freaked me out as a kid.

I recall near the end there was talking about a theme party for the kids... "Godzilla vs. The Smurfs" where the kids dressed as Dinosaurs and spent the rest of the day destroying tiny little marshmellow people as if they're real.

Hmmm.

Temis is sending my imagination on a quest?

Gilligan plays the worlds best yet bumbling caridothorassic surgeon, I mean on paper he's brilliant, but something Mr Beanishly/Clouseau always goes wrong after which all has to be covered up quickly... Larry David plays a medical malpractice lawyer on a vendetta out to get "Dr" Gilliigan because that little Buddy seems (is!) responsible for the death of his wife years earlier. Eva has to play a rich glamorous character, because she can't play anything else, limited, Arnold Ziffle acted in circles around her, who is using Larry to sue Gilligan so that she can spend time with him and leverage a marriage/relationship out of the esteemed surgeon, that he is really not interested in because he is secretly gay, all the while Larry is hopelessly besotted with Eva who likes that she wants to destroy his nemesis but can't help but wonder if her heart(pun. shudder.) is really this lawsuit for the right reasons?

Probably have to call the show "Get Gilligan" unless I couldn't call the lead character Gilligan.

Larry David is not only the greatest tv character of all time but a great, great man. Dump your BF!

Is your pony avatar doing plop plops?

So in episode two, Mr Drummond comes into the the boys bedroom and warns that a social worker is turning up later that day and that they should probably get their lies synchronized. No shit. He called it "coaching" but the plan was to manipulate social services into giving him a pass because there was some darker truth they didn't think would bare to light..

I'm wondering about the daughter?

When I was 6, I used to think Dana was Soooooooo hot.

However...

She's just a mess of acne, braces and bad hair.

Maybe she turns into a princess later on?

But think about it (I say that a lot.) the daughter is shipped out to boarding school 5 days a week (is it the same boarding school as the facts of Life or is that just over complicating everything?) does that mean that Mr Drummond loves the boys more than he loves his daughter, or that he can't stand to have her in the house with all her girl germs when those two hooligans are given a hall pass to go ape? Or does it mean that he loves the boys less because he's giving them an inferior cheaper education? Or does it mean that Willis is a moron that he can't get into the same school as Kimberly because his grades are poor, since they're both 14 they should be in the same classes at the same school if their father loves them the same.

In episode 3, Mr Drummond's mother faints at the sight of her new grandchildren.

She's a snob, not a bigot. It was their dirty fingernails that caught her off guard.

However, you have to think back to all my creepy thought about this arrangement that there had to be a good reason why Phillip didn't tell his mother that he had two new sons?

She would so need a new kidney first.
