Well if he is, he's pissed at a member of his own "Supreme Court" then - who seemed to be taking credit in the last post I read. Mainly for keeping a promise over giving fans a sneak peak onset.

Only longtime fans are likely to deduce anything spoilerish from the photos. I'd say it's not bad publicity at all as far general moviegoers are concerned. They'll be mildly curious about a new Star Trek going into production, if anything. What they've seen will be in the back of their mind for a while and then entirely forgotten about, by the time it's nearly completed.

I tend to agree, the quality of the shots does not speak of being done in a hurry on a camera phone. Even the pictures I took of the Avengers sets on 9th Street and Public Square with my FujiFilm digital camera weren't that good. I think it's a ploy on the part of J.J. & Co.

the 'leaked pictures' are surprisingly good quality... check the file extension as well, they're gifs... now i know a damn lot about smart phones and camera systems, and i don't know a single camera phone out there that takes photos in .gif format...

these have been deliberately converted down to .gif format to make them grainy and low quality... i'd put good money on it

The resolution is really good. There is no one standing in the way of the actors. There is no fuzziness to indicate the pictures were taken on the sly. I think the leaked pictures are a diversion. Pine's not even in these pictures. Why not? There's nothing being released without Abram's consent.

"Vulcan death grip" appeared in one of the earlier articles accompanying pictures from the set [Edit: Must have been this one - also from MTV, but different writer]. As a result, we'll probably be seeing that repeated over and over, any time one of those pics is used in the entertainment press.

Hey, at least it's not the same old tired thing about Khan.

oh no, we all know that Bumberbatch is playing the 'evil spock' from the mirror universe, who came across to escape with his older duplicate... that way we have four spocks running around for the future now... let's see how that much 'spock dna' affects the Vulcan genetics in the future lol

Note also that it's exactly the same type of scene as the first leaks from the previous movie (of Sulu and Romulans with swords) - it shows that Cumberbatch (best known as an intellectual character in Sherlock) is also going to be a physical threat to our heroes in the action scenes, without giving any hint as to who he's playing (the Starfleet shirt means nothing, really) or what he's doing. And it shows that Saldana is hot in a miniskirt, but also able to take care of herself and not just a secretary.

In fact it's so similar to those pics that I'll outright calculate that this is going to be from a mid-movie action scene, nowhere near the climax.

Having said that, the fact that its a month into production and set leaks are only coming out now means that J.J. & Co. have done a very considerable job keeping things under wraps so far.
