I'll admit I was a fan of the Star Trek reboot, even though it's a shallow (yet visually stunning) caricature of Trek--- but I am excited about a new movie. All I can seem to find are vague reports about a 2013 release, but is any of this confirmed? Hoping for the best .

Yes, Filming began in mid/late January, movie is to be released on May 17, 2013.

We know nothing about the plot at all, all we know is the guest Cast.

Yes, filming was scheduled to begin January 15, and in fact they ended up starting a few days early.
