Shore Leave 2012

Just noticed that the Shore Leave website has been updated, and now lists Kate Mulgrew and LeVar Burton as guests.

Not a bad line-up to start with!

(I figure this is On Topic for Literature just because Shore Leave attracts so many Trek authors every year.)

I wonder, have any of the authors present ever attended Fedcon in Germany, or are considering to?

There's already a sweet lineup for this year, but it sure would be sweeter with a TrekLit presence.

^ David Mack was there last year for Cross Cult.

It seems that they haven't invited an author this year, at least they haven't announced anything yet, and since Fedcon is in two or three months, I don't think anything will happen in that department.

They will have Martin Frei, their cover artist there, though, and at the moment they're contemplating to offer a limited run of a poster combining the three German Destiny covers for him to sign. (English Source ; Post by the publisher on their forum (German))

I'm not a big fan of mass gatherings of people and think the prices for conventions are somewhat steep, but if Cross Cult would put together a line-up of several TrekLit authors for Fedcon sometime in the future I might consider to go to my first convention.

I'm not a big fan of mass gatherings of people and think the prices for conventions are somewhat steep, but if Cross Cult would put together a line-up of several TrekLit authors for Fedcon sometime in the future I might consider to go to my first convention.

It would be rather cool if we could get a few authors together in the UK. We've already got our own 'Lone Magpie' David A. McIntee and Una McCormack (are there any more British authors ?).

If we could get a couple of Americans we would be in business...

Assuming she cares enough about what the novels have done to talk with them, I see no reason to think that would be a problem.

People have asked the Buffy actors, including SMG, at various conventions over the last two years their opinions on Dark Horse's Season Eight and Nine comics after being told specific plot points, and they've provided them. I guess it would be a matter of media asking Kate what she thought after telling her about Janeway.
