Very Nice Sketch and design :)

and again you impress people with your amazing design skills :)

Also of all the Ship Artists i know your one of my favs :) :techman:

Hi Atolm, how you doing? We are already feeling your missing. It´s a long time without new ships from you. :) I have a few suggestions. :) First two:

Option 3 for the torp launchers, would be between the neck and the naceles top. The torps (in any location) would follow the traditional lines (like the Reliant and Enterprise).
Option 4, would be to make the torp launchers in vertical configuration, at the neck´s front.

Anyway, I would like to see other views of this ship. :)

I played a bit with sketchup, trying to flesh out the Eventide. Since I´m a complete newbie using sketchup, it don´t turned that bad... Maybe I´ll move it to 3ds max later. :)

Hey Atolm, what do you think? Not bad for a first try, uh? :)
Could you draw over my dirty renderings and show us other views? :D

Atolm, I love the Eventide-Class! At first glance it seemed a bit awkward but I grow to love it more each time I look at it. It's a graceful yet intimidating design - ideal for a destroyer.

I went back and checked out your other designs also. You have an incredible talent and quite an imagination. Definitely some of the most original starship designs I've seen. Kudos! :techman:

Atolm, you and my friend Jeff are both treasures of the Trek community. Neither of you is afraid to look at the traditional design 'necessities' or stereotypes and go Homey the Clown on that shit.

I would never in a million years have said "Lets reverse the position of typical one nacelle applications. Now lets wrap an engineering hull around that nacelle." That's a simple, but amazing idea which produces truly gorgeous results.

This is the sort of forward thinking I'd kill to see more of in Star Trek Online. Captain Logan models like a boss, but you frequently blow my damn mind.

Some ideas: To completely avoid revisions a recessed oval deflector dish on the upper forward hull would work well. Also, a drop style shuttle bay to the rear central side of the saucer might work.

I love the shuttle bay just above the nacelle! Very Original.

The 'cab forward' saucer support pylon looks like a ships prow/cutwater...

Good for slicing through PTs...

Nice work!

Heck, with the way that the nacelle strut/hull comes down and wraps around the nacelle -- I hazard to say/think that it already has a 'JJ-Trek' vibe to the design.

Cheers,
-CM-

I would never have thought about putting the nacelle mount in the front of a destroyer, and probably never would have even if I did. Aesthetically, I still prefer the nacelle mounted by the rear of the ship, though that is not to say I can't appreciate your trademark detailing.

I don't think I even need to say good work, since everyone here already knows that!

What's the advantage of using Sketchup over Blender? I ask because I'm learning Blender right now.

Sketchup over Blender? Faster learning curve at the cost of capability. In the long run you're better off learning Blender.
