Hasbro to make nuTrek II toys

Hasbro's stuff is better...or used to be. They cheap out sometimes. Currently with Hasbro, figures included with any playsets and vehicles are usually as poseable as 70's Star Wars. Also, have a tendency to overship heroes and undership or not even make lead villains or supporting players in their superhero movie lines.

Finally!

I really think that if it wasn't Hasbro, then it would have been nobody. But I don't think Hasbro will make the mistake of flooding the retail market with too much stuff all at once.

Hopefully Hasbro will treat the Uk the same way as the US. Playmates decided we werent worth the extra bits and bobs in the 3.75" range, resulting in my ex-girlfriend having a very empty bridge playset on her shelf.

I got a complete set of the US versions, with the bridge bits, from poundland just before christmas:D

As someone who has often bought Star Wars figures in the past, this sounds like good news. One thing I hope for is they make die-cast Star Trek spaceships in their Titanium line-up.

This is very exciting news! It looks like first they will be releasing Star Trek Kreos, which are Hasbro's answer to Lego. Can you imagine a Kreo DS9? A Kreo Borg set? Kreo Amok Time? I am STOKED!!!!

I'd rather have Hasbro make them. Those other companies would charge at least twice for them and that's without shipping and handling costs since for most folks, they'd only be available online.

Was never really impressed with Hasbro's stuff lately. And companies like Hasbro and Mattel seem to go for quantity over quality in both looks of the figures and so on.

Exactly, it wasn't something that could be easily found in stores like the rest of the Mattel ships.

I bought the set of six Mattel ships via mail order (NewForce). Being Down Under, I'm used to such tactics.
Yeah, you can get some rare or hard to find things only through mail order in the States too. Back in '88, I got the rare Data and Tasha Yar figures from Galoob's TNG line only because I had ordered a complete set from a mail order company.

I think they design their stuff to be played with. Hasbro stopped doing high-end toys meant more to be collectibles awhile back (Sideshow has the license to do the larger and more highly detailed Star Wars toys now, but they sure aren't cheap).
