DS9 missing five years?

Sisko_facepalm.jpg

Actually it's just over four years -- The Soul Key is in January 2377 and Rough Beasts of Empire begins in February 2381.

The covers of David R. George III's upcoming Typhon Pact duology feature DS9 and the Bajoran wormhole, so it stands to reason that they will have DS9 elements moving the story forward from RBoE and Zero Sum Game, and might perhaps reveal more about the lingering questions from The Soul Key. But we don't know for sure yet. And it's probably premature to ask about plans for books beyond 2012.

I'm still hoping for an anthology or maybe even a trilogy timed for the twentieth anniversary. Something that can catch us up on the events in the Bajoran sector following the Mirror Universe things. Without context, certain things, like Vedek Kira, are really strange to me, and since Kira's one of my favorite characters in the Star Trek universe, I'd really like to connect the dots. Also, after just having read straight through Warpath, Fearful Symmetry, and The Soul Key, I really want the Ascendants story that we've been so teased with.

Same. If, despite said anniversery, it doesn't happen...I will be VERY disappointed.

Really? It seems like the exact place her path has been taking her since the beginning of the series, and throughout the Relaunch:
Vedek and, eventually, Kai Kira.

As The Clash so eloquently put it: "He who f*cks nuns will later join the Church."
