^Or maybe Una McCormack is able to write about more than just Cardassians.

Anything at all by Una would be appreciated - she is a fantastic writer !

I had put off and put off reading The Never Ending Sacrifice as I just didn't fancy it, but I simply loved it when I got round to it.

The Never Ending Sacrifice is one of my alltime favorite Trek novels. If Una's returning to Trek, please let it be about Cardassians. I know she can do so much more, but she has written them in a way that made them one of my favorite races in TrekLit.

Wow, 5 books in five months. I can't wait. I wish they were starting earlier though. May can't come fast enough.

Even more Typhon Pact along with Una McCormack? This is pleasing news. :)

Not that I am complaining but why all of a sudden are we getting 5 books in 5 months? We go from a little ( at least of what I enjoy reading) to a whole bunch. Seems a little unbalanced.

    I thought we're on a 12 for 12 schedule generally?

Probably the previous Typhon Pact books sold well enough that the sales department wants to see the TP heading used on as many books as possible.

Ive actually not read anything by her yet, so I wasnt aware she has written things about Cardassians, it was speculated that her next Typhon Pact book might be geared around the Cardassians, I was excited about the thought of getting into Garak's head and what his thoughts are about the Pact.

Mind you, Im only on book 2 of Mission Gamma so by the time I get caught up on the DS9 relaunch I might find out Garak is dead or something lol

^Actually my post was in response to the opening post, but you slipped yours in just before mine.

Una McCormack's Trek works to date have been Cardassian-based (and very good, by the way), so when her name came up DarkHorizon said what most of us would be thinking anyway; "is this then the next Cardassian tale?" Christopher was just adding that we shouldn't assume anything.

For my part, I'd love to get another McCormack Cardassian book, and I'd be equally interested in seeing her put her considerable talent behind another race. :)

I'm starting to think of the Typhon Pact series as the equivilent of the New Jedi Order series or the Legacy of the Force series from the Star Wars EU. A long running series under a banner title. Perhaps this will go on for some time and then another major event will occur starting a new storyline.

This has automatically become the most exciting Star Trek novel of 2012 for me.

You know... I can't say I'm anything but thrilled to hear that Una McCormack has got another Star Trek novel in the pipeline.

And if it does happen to be a Cardassian tale... so much the better.

I've always thought that of the major/main antagonist races of Trek, the Cardassians would be perfect to ally themselves with the Federation next, (similar to the Klingons, and somewhat less so the Ferengi Alliance)

Of course, in my mind... I'm looking decades if not centuries forward in order to see these possibilities coming to pass.

I like that idea. I was thinking it had become somewhat of a "24th century, post-Destiny mashup" branding.
