2011 NFL Season - A New Game

As long as Belichick doesn't show up in a RED hoodie. Knew that game was off from the start. Between that and the gimmick end-around on the first play of the game...

Yeah, what was up with the nice clean red sweatshirt?!?!? With a SB XLII logo on it no less.

I want him out there in something ready to go into the laundry basket.

He was probably contractually obligated to wear something with a Super Bowl logo on it. All NFL coaches are bound by the same uniform contract as the players, they must wear Reebok sanctioned clothes.

This is why you don't see coaches wearing suits on the sidelines anymore... Reebok doesn't make a suit. They tried once (Mike Nolan and Jack Del Rio) but it looked like crap and was abandoned.

Oh, fuck me, Alex Van Pelt is supposedly the leading candidate for the Bears' passing game coordinator / QB coach.

I just had this feeling it would be 24-20 Giants, and then saw that was the actual score of their regular season matchup. And I'm a Pats fan, so I have a dog in this fight.

The offense is more multi-faceted than in 2007. They were a big play threat then. Now they can mix it up more. Welker is still a 1st down machine, but now they have Branch who is explosive at times, Gronk the beast, and Hernandez who is a slippery and can play multiple positions, the Law Firm who isn't flashy but doesn't fumble, Woodhead as a change of pace and pass catching RB out of the backfield, and a solid O-line.

The D worries me. They roll over on 3rd down, but somehow manage to come up with a big sack/INT/strip when it matters. You can't rely on that luck though. It's a bend, sometimes bend over, but don't break D.

The Giants offense can cause all sorts of trouble with Manningham, Cruz, and Steamie Nicks, but their run game has faltered. Their D-line is still solid.

I think it boils down to the last time they played in the SB. If Brady has time and can direct the offense, Pats win. If the Giants pressure him, they're screwed.

I don't know, but the way Paul, Tuck, Williams and Umenyiora have been playing in the play-offs, Looks like Brady might be in duress most of the time...ALSO we will have to see if the refs are wearing extra yellow flags to cover their eyes when it comes to him. :p:lol:

Irsay is a turd. Manning should be able to come out of this looking like the good guy, unlike Favre.

Hey, look! It's a snowball! And it's rolling down a massive mountain, getting bigger and taking out everything in its path!

Yeah, I don't see Manning staying in Indy much longer...
"Peyton should know better than to go out in public and talk about the team like that..... but I'll have you know that he's done his own share of probem causing."

Yeah, Mannings gone. Even if Irsay doesn't pull the trigger, Peyton may ask to go. Geeze.... say that a guy shouldn't take public shots at the team and then immediately follow it up with a shot back at him. Sounds like a fun place to be right now.

I wonder which front office is more dysfunctional, the Chiefs or the Colts?

So then, where might Manning go if he goes?

If he stays in the AFC, Miami, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Denver, and maybe KC all seem possible. The Jets love to make a splash, but I really really hope they're not an option.

In the NFC, Washington, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Seattle, and maybe Arizona I could see as being possibilities.

Once he's out of the AFC South, I'll feel a lot better about rooting for him, that's for sure.

ETA: and considering his age and that he's probably nearing the end of his career, I'd rule out Cleveland, Jacksonville, Tampa, and probably Washington and Seattle.

Considering the Colts front office is all brand new (except for Irsay, of course) then the answer has to be the Chiefs!

Irsay has always seemed like a spoiled rich kid, who inherited the team from his Daddy. He wears those expensive suits and says stupid shit on Twitter.

Manning will come out clean on the other side, even if he DOES stay with the Colts.

Of the most reasonable options available, I'd send him down to Florida (oh, the irony...) to play for the Aqua & Orange. Miami has been in need of a great QB ever since Dan Marino retired and whether he's in the twilight of his career or not, Peyton is still Peyton. And, going back to the AFC East will restore his twice-a-year rivalry with the Patriots.

But, really, I'd rather he retire than finish his career somewhere other than Indy. I went through this shit once already when Joe Montana had to leave SF for KC.

Jim Irsay, my good sir.... I invite you to go fuck yourself!

Yeah, could be some people just have certain reflexes that come out when talking about the NFL fuck Tim Tebow.
