Why hate on Jake/Cirroc??

An interesting thing about Jake was that he was actually there from beginning to end. Most Trek children get written out of the story (Alexander..) or just stop showing up.

I never thought there was much hate for Jake. I wish he'd had more to do, as I always generally liked him.

They had plans to do more with Jake, but it never happened. "In the Pale Moonlight" was originally supposed to be about Jake doing an investigative report as a journalist and uncovering the misdeeds of his his father.

If it had been done that way, it would have changed the direction for Jake going forward.

The final scene of DS9 wouldnt have worked with just Kira.

Having Jake as the non-starfleet kid, going through the war, winning the war then losing his father? Perfect.

I guess I dont get the criticism that he wasn't used enough? It's not like his role could have be written out and replaced with anyone else. The Sisko family unit was a good part of the show.
