Favorite Hoshi Moments...

What is YOUR favorite moment or moments with Hoshi? I like how she can handle herself in a room full of guys like when they play sports games in "The Forge."

I also dig her MU counterpart taking command of things from MU Archer at the end of the MU storyline.

I love Hoshi, so I generally enjoy her scenes. But one of my favorite Hoshi moments is in "Broken Bow" when she's in Sickbay trying to figure out what their Klingon guest is saying.

"KLAANG: Vengen Sto'vo'kor Dos!
HOSHI: I'm not sure, but I think he's saying something about eating the afterlife?
KLAANG: MajOa blmoHgu!
HOSHI: He says his wife has grown ugly? I'm sorry, Captain. I'm doing the best I can."

I'm thinking Hoshi's great-great-grandmother is working for Google Translate nowadays.

I liked her in Vanishing Point. Her fear of being forgotten and dismissed is pretty palpable.

I forget the name of the episode - but the one where we find out she broke a superior officer's arm and *that* was why she'd been on leave from Starfleet...

Well needed character development away from wimpy-cry-baby!

That would be "Observer Effect." I agree, a great episode for her. Nice byplay with Trip.

One of my favorites is the opening scene from "Babel One," when Hoshi is teaching Archer how to insult like a Tellarite. The characters (and actors) had reached this wonderful comfort zone, great chemistry, funny scene.

Also, in the beginning of "Zero Hour," when Hoshi is hurt and brain-fried (literally) and doesn't think she can get the job done, and Archer tells her she's the only one who can do it, and gives her the strength and confidence to go on.

And in "Terra Prime," Archer has left Hoshi in command with orders that put her in direct conflict with the head honcho of Earth (can't think of his name, all I see is the Principal of Buffy's high school  ), and she stands up to him and doesn't let him cow her into caving to his demands.

And he wasn't Buffy's principal, he was Sunnydale's Mayor for over a century...

...Quark was Buffy's principal.

My favorite Hoshi scene was when she was defying the Reptilians. She even attempted to suicide so they couldn't use her to help them destroy Earth. Pretty gutsy for a woman who once considered high-tailing it back to Brazil.

Yes completely agree. I like how that whole story arc has them all desperate, angry and pushed to extremes you don't normally see. Unlike other series where they would take holodeck breaks to play during horrible wars, LOL. I was very impressed with her attempt to kill herself.

I second that...also when she spat in Dollums face in the same episode that she was going to jump off into nothingness

Off the top of my head I can’t think of any great character moments for Hoshi, I’m afraid.

But I re-watched Sleeping Dogs today and I liked the scene in which Hoshi tells Reed - of all people – that he should fire all photon torpedoes at once instead of just two.

And I do like her mess hall scene with Reed from Silent Enemy, because it’s cute. I especially like the way she giggles behind her hand when she realizes that Reed thinks she’s coming onto him.

Given the number of launch tubes, wouldn't that run the risk of creating some rather sizable holes in the hull?

Just stick to communications sweetheart.
