^ Sadly, they failed to include Brian Burke's best quote on the matter: "They can go defecate in their chapeaus."

And given how Phaneuf has been playing a very complete game this year, I don't see how anyone can really take this seriously.

Gotta disagree with Kesler and Pronger. I think if Phaneuf puts in a solid year this year, he can rise out of the overrated ranks.

Ovechkin just seems to be in a funk, don't think he's technically overrated.

Love how there's 3 Calgary players, can't believe more didn't make it.

Montreal I think got the better end of the bargain though - they got rid of a guy who obviously didn't want to be there, they save 3 million in cap space, they get a bigger body in Bourque (which they desperately need) who is good for around 30 goals a year, they get a prospect who projects to be a solid 3rd or 4th liner and they get a 2nd round pick.

Calgary got an expensive retread (couldn't believe he makes over 6 million) that is on pace for his worst season in a long time and they don't really have a playmaking centre that can compliment him.

^ Yeah Montreal definitely got the better end of the deal. Hell, I'd take Bourque for Cammalleri straight up.

Hi Josan,
Thanks for starting this threat. I have watched the game and love Leafs team work. I will keep checking the threat to know the updates.

I was kind of surprised the Spezza goal counted but I'll take it! :D

Couple of nice goals in this game. Lupul's goal was really nice and so was the one by Turris.

Battle of Ontario tonight. Who's watching?

The second goal shouldn't have counted with Spezza sitting on Reimer.

Goaltender interference really needs to be allowed in the video review. That seems like the sort of thing that would be really easy to do, as well, compared to high sticking and kicking calls.

The Leafs outplayed Ottawa like crazy last night, but the bounces really didn't go their way. Craig Anderson is a beast right now.

Yeah, I'm a Bruins fan, but there's no doubt they play some pretty damn dirty hockey. Lucic and Marchand are especially bad. I like my team, but I don't like that kind of behavior in any sport. It's classless and there's really no call for it.

I didn't know Stewart hated the B's so much, though.

As amusing as the video is, I'm pretty sure Stewart didn't actually have much to do with it. :p

Tim Thomas refused to take part in the annual Stanley Cup Champions visiting the White House, because of Barack Obama.

The Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins visited the White House today to be honored by President Barack Obama, but the team's star goaltender declined to attend for poltical reasons.
According to Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli, who had discussed the matter with Thomas several times during the past three months, "Everyone has the right to voice their opinion. This is not the first time" an athlete has turned down a presidential invitation.

Thomas, who is known to hold staunchly conservative views, plans to publicly explain on his Facebook page tonight around 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Classy, putting your politics above your team's notable accomplishments.

Someone on Twitter nailed it:

It's true he's not the first athlete to do this, but I agree with you, Garak. This moment is supposed to be about the team, not his personal politics.
