2011 NFL Season - A New Game

I have to ask.... how did GB manage to have one of the scariest passing offenses in the league when their WR's have not been able to consistently catch a ball all season?

Also, terrible roughing the passer call.

It's absolutely mind-boggling, the way the receivers are playing tonight. This is the only time this season that drops have been such a problem.

Really? Huh, I must be thinking of a different team then. For one reason or another, I thought that drops had been a problem all season. Maybe not to this ridiculous extreme, but still an issue.

The Giants are looking like the Giants team that ended the Patriots "perfect" season a few years ago. They've gotten hot at exactly the same time, winning on the road.

(OK, they haven't won yet, but I think they will.)

I've seen just about every Green Bay game this season (since I live in Madison), and it's really hard to overstate just how ridiculously efficient their offense was this season. Individual players had some ups and downs (Jermichael Finley had a pretty nasty case of the dropsies for about a month), but the whole offense having drop problems? Not at all.

Their defense, however, has been a dumpster fire all season and this drive was horrendous.

I think what this world needs, it's more defense-oriented football rematches for championship games.

After the Packer disaster today, I'm in for the Brady win #4. The top offense paired with crap defense formula needs a boost. I can't stand the Harbaughs, and I obviously can't cheer for the Giants after they made themselves comfortable at Lambeau Field... AGAIN!

Just really terrible effort from the Packers today... so many drops on pass attempts... so many fumbles. Just really basic stuff, it's not like people weren't open and running free. The points were there for the taking. Winning it all last year dulls the blow a little bit, but taking 15-1 plus homefield advantage and throwing it in the trash is never going to sit right.

So, neither Saints nor Packers in the NFC championship. I think you could have gotten a very nice return for your money if you bet on that a couple weeks ago. ;)

I guess I'm jumping on the 49ers bandwagon now; would be fine with Baltimore too though.

Yahoo Sports' article a few weeks ago about "if the NFL used the BCS instead of playoffs" had the Saints vs the Packers in the Super Bowl. Now they're both eliminated from the playoffs.

Why is it that no one, including the announcers, saw number 91 of the Giants just knock the hell out of Rogers' head on that play? I guess everyone was too focused on the Giants' player who made the initial hit on Rogers (who didn't make contact with Rogers head). The roughing call was spot on.

A word on Tebow; I'm a big Raiders' fan so as long as he is wearing that ugly ass blue and orange jersey I can't root for him on the field -- so I'll just have to confine my cheering for his off the field activity.

As for next season, I think the Broncos have as good a chance of not making the playoffs as they do of making it. That team was quite fortunate this season and quite honestly, I don't think they have the talent at quarterback to be as successful without that luck. A great defense and running game can take an NFL team only so far and I suspect that the other teams around the league (just like the Pats) will somehow figure out the apparent matrix that is the option by next season.

Not a Pats' fan but glad to see Denver ousted in such grand fashion. :D

Probably because number 91 didn't actually make a play. He was GOING to, but the other guy drive Rodgers into him. You can't get a roughing the passer call if you don't actually tackle him, but pull off your route.

It was a terrible call. The guy went to the side and used his shoulder, basically a textbook tackle...
