2011 NFL Season - A New Game

^The thing is that most of Denver's players didn't come right back out last night. Our safety Carter went out and then came right back in, but it didn't take very long before he was back out for good. Our other starting safety, Bruton, never came back and our D-lineman Bunkley didn't come back either. Our only one-and-back player was Carter, and he didn't waste anytime leaving again, so I'm thinking he was trying to be tough and ended up paying for it.

It's still bad form to boo. In a playoff game, most of these professionals want to do everything they can to get back out on the field, even if they are hurt. It wouldn't surprise me if those players who came back were playing through a great deal of pain.

Except Jay Cutler, of course.

The Texans vs Ravens game looks like it's over before the first quarter has even ended.

I don't see how the Texans can possibly come back from this today.

The officials must have been watching a different game than I was, because that was clearly a fumble. Not sure what they saw that I didn't.

EDIT: And it must have been a fumble, because even Mike Pereira is saying so, and he normally sticks with his referee buddies.

Yeah and it's exactly those kind of calls that lead to cries of favoritism and "home cookin" by the Refs. I don't know what the explanation is, but good God that was a bad call.

Green Bay has had a bad case of the dropsies today. Several wide-open dropped passes.

EDIT: According to Joe Buck, that makes 4.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but the Giants are looking like the better team today. How is the score still tied?

Why did the Packers go for it on 4th down at midfield? They have 13 minutes left. Are they so afraid of the Giants offense that they HAD to get the score?

I don't want to take anything away from what the Giants are accomplishing, but thinking back to a few weeks ago when the lowly Chiefs beat the Packers, I'm beginning to wonder, where the 2011 Packers the biggest myth of the season?

I wouldn't say they're a myth -- they got their 15 - 1 record despite having an absolutely miserable defense all season. The Chiefs showed the rest of the league how to beat the Packers, and the Giants are sticking to that gameplan pretty closely: Generating consistent pressure on Rodgers, mixing up coverage schemes frequently while playing extremely tight man coverage, forcing the run game to stay inside, and keeping a spy on Rodgers to prevent him from running too much.

The drops in this game, however, have been ridiculous.

I don't think so... the Chiefs got hot for a little bit at the end of the season, especially since they went into the Packers game with a new coach and QB. Also, don't forget that the Giants played the Packers pretty close when they faces the first time.

Barring something shocking happening, both of my NFC favorites are now out.
