Aftermath of the assassination of MI-6 agents

People who witnessed the filming said that scene involves a funeral procession with 8 caskets draped in Union Jacks.

This is supposedly part of the pre-title sequence. This corresponds to the pictures of "M" and Bond sitting in cars.

Scene 35 sounds a bit late to be in the Pre-credits, but I'd guess this is more likely just after the credits (a bit like where King's funeral is placed in TWINE)

What radio shows are you referring to? The only ones I'm aware of were adaptations of the novels. There was one done on Moonraker in the 1950s and there have been a few one-off book adaptations in more recent years. Presumably unless they're fan-made they were licensed by Ian Fleming Publications (owners of the literary copyright). Or could you be referring to radio broadcast of audio books? That happens quite often in the UK, especially on BBC Radio, in which case those would be the audio books you can find on sale pretty much anywhere.

Anyway, looking at the cast list it looks pretty strong. I like the fact we've got a British Bond girl again assuming that's Naomie's character (Naomie Harris is of Jamaican heritage but was born in London). Discounting Gemma Arterton's cameo in Quantum of Solace I don't think we've had a real British Bond girl since Diana Rigg. Seriously - check out the nationalities of the actresses since OHMSS; Mary Goodnight was British but the actress I believe was Swedish. And I'm not counting villains or eye candy like Caroline Munro in Spy Who Loved Me. Maybe I'm missing one - it can't have been THAT long.

It would be an interesting twist to make Moneypenny the Bond girl this time around. Would be a nice way to reintroduce the character.

Ooh! I had an idea that the credit sequence ends with a union jack and then we dissolve to the cloth union jacks

If you did, all the more power to you. I didn't, and from what I can tell neither did most of the Internet. ;)

I quite like the Goldeneye score, although it doesn't feature the 007 riffs nearly enough (but then you could argue the same of Casino royale and QoS)

I have no desire to see any Bond film with Craig as Bond or the current production team.

They should not have let Brosnan go early...he was perfect in the role.

And I frankly miss the more lush and "romantic" feel of the older Bond films. This new Bond is too harsh and gritty both character-wise, and cinematographically.

Does anyone follow Arnold on Twitter? Apparently he's claimed his not doing the Skyfall score is more down to the director not wanting him than Olympic clashes...

I guess that's what happens when the director has a regular composing partner...

Too bad for you. I'm loving it because it now feels much more like the Bond of Fleming's novels.

The later Connery Films, most of the Moore films and all the Brosnan films had become a joke and something of a spoof of the Bond in Fleming's books. It was just plain ridiculous. We're still getting some exaggerations, but it's nowhere as blatant as before.

^You know Craig will has a laser watch, invisible car and a jetpack in SkyFall right? ;)

At the end of the day, Bonds are like Doctor(Who)s, if you don't like the current one, chances are one you do like will be along eventually.

Personally at times I miss the lightheartedness of Bond, though I suspect a bit of that will be back in the next one. Frankly, and yeah it's blasphemy I know, but I far prefer the films (whoever is 007) to the books...

That would actually be cool again. We had two films without any gadgets. At least a laser watch or some rockets in his car would be nice.

The gadgets can walk a fine line and still be acceptable. But it wouldn't surprise me if at some point the Craig films get ridiculous again. At that point then I'll bail again.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority, but I find it to be rather unique and interesting. It wouldn't have worked in most Bond films, but somehow it fit the tone of the movie really well, for me.

Technically, Craig's Bond did have some gadgets. When he and the other agent are watching the bomb-maker in Casino, they communicate via earpiece. His MI6-issue car at the Casino has the drawer with the guns, defibrillator...and a few other gadgets which he doesn't use, but we do see.

In Quantum, he used something to break into a Quantum henchman's apartment.

He does have gadgets...but they're more "down-to-earth", more realistic.

Brosnan's Bond feels like he was created by some advertising agency to sell watches, cars and vodka. It's as though they took all the stereotypical attributes of Fleming's character, combined them, and grew Brosnan in a vat. All the other Bonds have something that defines them: Connery's toughness, Moore's charm, Dalton's darkness, with Craig having some elements of both Connery and Dalton. But what does Brosnan have? Beyond the Bond stereotypes, he's essentially a cipher.

Also, he runs like a girl.
