Benedict Cumberbach joins the cast

Temis the Vorta

Breaking news!

I’ve learned that hot British film actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a lead role in the film. No word yet on whether he’ll be a hero or villain.
Well, Sherlock, there's no room for a lead protagonist role, since that's already being divvied up among too many people. So either they're exaggerating the importance of the role, or he's playing a rather pasty-looking Khan. :rommie:

(Perhaps this will squelch the Khan rumors for good? I could see him as Lord Garth, hmmm...)

And I can only assume that "hot" is being used in a career context here, because he's one fugly looking dude. :wtf:

My first though at seeing his face was "Romulan." He's got the bone structure.Wasn't Lord Garth bandied about as one of the possibilities for the featured villain?

If this was the same role they were auditioning Latino actors for, I'm thinking, the only thing (other than a Horta of course) that would cover everyone is a Klingon. I can definitely see him as one of those TOS Klingons with a fu manchu and wearing gold lame.

He is indeed playing the role, del Toro was supposed to play, according to a gazillion web pages.
I guess, it wasn't Khan after all.

Nope, I talked to Benny yesterday and he said he won't be Khan. He's actually gonna be playing the role of Johnny, Khan's little brother. The movie title will be "Wrath of John".

Oh cmon, what is a Tholian even supposed to look like and why would they think Latinos would be a good "look" for the role? ;)

Maybe because Latinos make those dolphin like clicking noises when they talk (it's called Spanish, I think) ... just like Tholians.

Of course... I COULD be wrong.

What about Andorians? I looove Andorians. Most underused species of the TOS era.

Great choice! Benedict Cumberbatch is amazing on Sherlock and he'll play a great villain in Star Trek.

Wait, NOT Khan?

Yay for originality! :)

For some reason he strikes me as a Cardassian....I know that's the least likely of all the Trek species to be the next villain but, I dunno he screams Cardy to me!

Good to know Simon Pegg will have a drinking buddy during the new film anyway, I expect many hilarious twitpics :p
