Next Titan novel announced

I hope that, while the details may (and probably will) change, the overall concept stays the same. I greatly enjoyed the overall cover design for the first several Titan novels and didn't like when the last few didn't follow that theme. It's nice to see it back here.

Which ones didn't use it, besides Sieze the Fire? (Destiny doesn't count, it's not a "pure Titan" novel.)

You are right. I was thinking Destiny too, but that doesn't really count. I'm not sure what I was thinking other than it's been a while since a pure Titan novel was released.

I agree that they need to take the Enterprise out of the cover. A picture of white-blue would be cool too since I'm assuming based upon the last Titan novel that he has a major role to play.

Glad this says "not final." I read the Titan novels because they're about Titan and her crew, not because they're about the Enterprise.

Upper level marketing stratagy - Create a higher demand by lowering quality deliberately. Where are you gonna go to get a better Star Trek? The movies?

I like complex stories told simply with concepts as least as good as the tv series. Dense and laborous prose are not for me. Especially political stories.

What on Earth are you talking about?

I suppose if you don't want to read something, you could... oh, I don't know, not buy it? Just a thought...

Besides, as far as I'm concerned, the quality of stories produced by Trek writers is at an all-time high, with definite highlights being produced by the likes of David Mack, Christopher L. Bennett, Kirsten Beyer, Greg Cox, and a host of others.

If you're done with "Star Trek?" Yep.

I ran a large "Star Trek" club from 1983-1992. We had members get disgruntled with Trek all the time. People who'd been members of the club since 1972 would suddenly decide that all Star Trek was stupid, and the rest of us were stupid for still liking it. It could be the tiniest thing that set them off. TMP, Spock's death, ST IV, TNG, ST V, DS9, VOY, "Nemesis"...

You seem so unhappy with the current directions, but nobody's making you stay. Tossing out off-the-wall, cryptic criticisms won't change things.
