Which Starship name would you choose?

Constellation, because it actually has something to do with space, which is appropriate for a space ship...

And because any Earth-centric name like a WWII ship or Civil War battle, etc, would be utterly meaningless to any alien UFP members, and thusly is ridiculous to use as a starship's name. Also, none of the other names have anything remotely to do with space.

Why would they have to be named for objects in space? Seagoing ships aren't all named for objects in the ocean. And Earth history becomes Federation history on the UFP is established as does Andorian, Vulcan and Tellerite history. Names from all histories will probably be used for names.

As they're Exploring the Galaxy how about names like.
> USS Columbus NCC-1492
> USS Ericson NCC-1000
> USS Hudson NCC-1609
> USS Champlain NCC-1608
> USS Coronado NCC-1542

USS Tasman NCC-1642
USS Zheng He NCC-1421
USS Cook NCC-1770
USS Magellan NCC-1521
USS Dampier NCC-1699

Pretty sure I heard of a USS Drake somewhere in one of the series.

Joshua Slocum, the first man to circumnavigate the world solo.

Wow, I read a lot of really good suggestions.

My vote would go to the U.S.S. Challenger, in honor of our great and lost space shuttle.

Otherwise, it would be the Bradbury.

Excalibur, because I'm a fan of King Arthur. All my shuttles would be named after the knights of the Round Table.
Nice:bolian: but I would also add a shuttlecraft Gwen or Guenevere.

USS Sir Robin
USS Tim the Enchanter
USS Møøse

:lol::guffaw:

USS Anthrax
USS Dingo
USS Zoot
USS Very-small-rocks
USS Ekki-Ekki-Ekki-Ekki-PTANG. Zoom-Boing. Z'nourrwringmm
USS Ni!
USS Empty-headed-animal-food-trough-wiper
USS Not-appearing-in-this-film
