December challenge - "Sweet Zombie Jesus! It's HUGE!"

Whether you're talking about the Excelsior, a Dyson sphere, or Worf's gorch, there are some things in the Trek universe that are just HUGE! So here's your chance to show us just how massively out-of-scale some things can be. (And no fair just showing a picture of Shatner's or Doohan's waistline - that would be too easy! :D )

Well in the Star Trek universe, my Snake Plisken is MASSIVE! But I guess no one here needs to see a picture of that. Might be a inappropriate.

?

I'm kidding... So just come up with ubber large ships or starbases? That sort of thing? Or Troi's boobs! I can make them BIGGER!

She'll still be annoying.

And I assume just posting a pic of the JJPrise is not allowed ;).

Not quite sure about the 'artistic' side of this; are we to create something massively out of scale, or illustrate something that already exists and show in context how huge it is?

Here's my entry!

...just kidding. Echoing Ptrope's questions - create, upsize,... ?

That's up to your interpretation. Whether it's something new or existing, I would think you'd need to show it in context. I mean, the Enterprise may not be the biggest ship out there, but it looks plenty big if you're sitting on the edge of the saucer. It also looks pretty tiny next to a First Federation ship, which looks massive by comparison.

Not necessarily, though you could do that... or just something showing a massive difference in scale.

Well, for size fun, I tried my best to make a good scale of ship to person.

Here's a ship, deep in space. You might notice a little spot on the ship's port pylon.

Here we are a little closer, the spot is starting to take form.

It's Cassy, chilling out on the pylon, she likes to go outside of a ship and chill out in space.

Don't forget, folks -- send your entries to ptrope at gmail dot com by the end of the year! :D
