Enterprise-J Request

not a complaint, but a general observation :

have you ever considered drawing things yourself or learning to use a fairly simple computer program for these requests of yours?

As far as I know, the image from the ENT episode, and that animated version of the same view, are the only images (?) of the J.

In case you guys haven't figure it out, I can't draw that well. I was hoping to have somebody who actually did do the drawings.

Yeah but most of you guys are better than I am so I was kind of hoping for that. It's really amazing how much of a hard time I'm getting over simple requests.

Basically, you're asking people to bust their butt for a prolonged period of time to satisfy your personal whim. Would you ask random strangers to paint your bathroom for you?

If all of the random strangers and I were at some sort of symposium that revolves around bathroom painting, then yes.

It doesn't seem so odd to me that the Trek Art forum is the place to go to inquire about Trek Art.

Besides, it's not like asking the general populace if anyone in general could do it is equivalent to holding Da Vinci hostage at gunpoint. Did his request cause you some emotional, mental, or even physical harm? If so, maybe YOU need some help.

Reanimatedfish is correct in most respects, CuttingEdge is asking complete strangers to spend days labouring on his whims because he cant be bothered to. He believes that while 2D/3D software is bloody difficult to get the hang of, certainly too much for him to be bothered with, we have mastered it and can knock out top notch models in moments. The software does all the work, clearly.

He has been told on numerous occasions by many people that this is not the case as he is no stranger to pestering members of this forum for free artwork. He is also immune to people explaining to him that he is asking a great deal and should not be surprised if no one leaps to work for him for free, and yet still he gets offended by our lack of vigor. We have offered to give him advice and assistance should he try to make his own models, but that seems too much like hard work. It was funny at first, but to be honest he's becoming more of a pain.
