Wow, when you look back and forth quickly, you forget which is which. And I'm wondering if the slight differences in width at the end of the corridor are down to the field of view differences rather than any inaccuracy. Either way, amazing job on both modelling and lighting. The colours are slightly different, but yours look less dated and more like the later Starfleet corridors.

The reference picture was taken from the "Star Trek: TNG Interactive Technical Manual" VR files. I believe these were produced with a camera that took three dimensional pictures of the sets at different locations. I've noticed while viewing these files that the lens on the special camera probably had fish-eye lenses, which may explain the dimensional difference.

When those special cameras were used to record the sets of TNG, it also appears that the lighting was adjusted for the occasion to give a brighter appearance, and due to the computer video recording capabilities of the time, the color has a yellowish tint all around.

What I do is use the three dimensional VR files as a reference when making the architecture of each area, and then use screencaps of TNG episodes for lighting and color references.

Either way, I continually check my work against the actual set schematics, so the dimensions should be fairly close to the actual set dimensions, give or take a few inches.

This is pretty awesome. Any chance of taking screenshots without the HUD and weapon in hand? Or maybe even spectating the map for some more dramatic shots other than first-person view?

I actually meant new episodes. I was very sad after All Good Things Aired.

I wore myself out on the D and had to take a break, and in the meantime, just to see how well I could make TOS sets look in Quake III (although it's been done by others), I did this littler number:

This is absolutely incredible work. I can't wait to fire it up with my 3D glasses, which work perfectly with Quake 3, for an immersive roam around the 1701D.

This project is on a hold for a while. Basically because of my Virtual TOS Enterprise project has my interests wrangled right now. Plus, the TOS project will take much less time to complete due to the less detailed sets of TOS. It will also allow me more time to learn the intricacies of the QIII engine so I'm able to make the more complex geometry required for the D Bridge.

I'll pick this one back up eventually.

I made a start modelling the bridge a while back if you want to take it on - still a way to go. I used Daz Hexagon to do the modelling. Here is what it looks like:

Here is the hexagon file, obj file and zip with all of the above and reference images.

Thats a great start. I have no experience with 3d modelling other than a few clumsy attempts at sketchup

Donny you should sell the sets to STO. I recently watched a video of their TOS sets and they suck and look really amateur compared to yours

How would I go about doing that?

EDIT: Oh, man. Just saw said video. The scale of their sets is all wrong. Horrible. I wish they would've contracted me to build them for em.

Figured I'd pick this project back up after not working on it for months. Here's the finished Ten Forward! The screenshots came out darker than the actual game for some reason, will try to reupload the pics tomorrow that are better lit.

Got a nifty starfield working outside the windows so it actually looks like the ship is hurtling through space.

(edit) Forgive the minor lighting error in pic 2. Also forgive the JPEG compression.
