I'm going to America!

Well folks, it's all planned out-- I got enough saved up (both money and vacation) to take 3 weeks in America for Christmas!!! I can't wait. Finally back to the States for some much needed family and friend time. This will be my first time home in a year so I'm kind of on cloud nine about getting it all worked out.

What do you have on the list for the winter holidays? Family? Friends? Travel? Work? :/ --- Are you excited? What's your holiday bag, yo!

I have two weeks off---not paid, though. I will spend four or five days with my sisters and their children, at my parents' home. I'm hoping to spend some time with the kids this year. On New Year's Eve, we will spend the entire day (12-13 hours) at our friends' place, having an all-day game party with TONS of food.

I suppose I will have to squeeze in a few hours with my mother in law, sister in law and her kids (who are practically grown). Yeesh. They are a miserable lot but it will thankfully be a short visit.

With any luck, I will actually get to spend some time with hubby that doesn't involve running errands or computer repair.

Impromptu DC meetup?

I don't have much plans except to just destress and prepare for the new year. I have 6 days off over the rest of the month and I am going to enjoy them.

My last day at NASA TV will be my birthday, December 16.

For the record, if you're looking for a good present; iPad or skinny tie.

After my final work day...I'm to report to DC's Union Station for a weekend birthday getaway to New York City. It was supposed to be a surprise by my girl left a copy of the itinerary on the printer and I saw it. It's her fault. She knows it. I'm return to DC on the 19th.

On the 20th I drive to Tennessee for Christmas with the fam. The fiancee flies down the 23rd. We drink and revel. After Jesusday I help my brother finalize my grandmother's house for auction. I return to DC around the 2nd and start my new career on the 3rd.

I am using the remainder of my vacation days to take off the week between Christmas and New Years, so including those two weekends, I will be off for 10 full days. My plans are to do absolutely nothing and love every minute of it.

I need to figure out how to get my girl to New York City one of these days. I would steal your better half's idea except 1) I learned last year to not make any plans for her birthday as her family seems to supersede my own schemes and 2) it would seem a bit odd running into in NYC. Wouldn't want for you to think I'm creepy/sexy.

I have 10 days off. I'm going to Wales for a few days, then spending the rest of the time working on my flat.

The survey says you're sexy. Man up and accept it.

My plan is to repeat Thanksgiving. In other words, dinner with my girlfriend and cousins (and brother if he's sober).

Sounds like the anticipation is building; you sound almost as excited as these guys currently doing the viral video round:

I haven't finalised my own plans yet, but I'm pretty certain that after the usual round of meeting various friends for dinners in the week before Christmas, I'll go visit my dad for at least a few days over the Christmas period itself. I tend to stay there from Christmas Eve until about the 29th, and I doubt this year will be different. Am I looking forward to it? Yes. :D

No idea. We are more likely to spend it at home. My wife's paternal grandfather may not make it to Christmas. A cousin of mine is getting married on New Year's Eve. We may move to a new city soon.

So we are gonna chill in good ol' Alexandria, Virginia.

Staying home for Christmas. Waiting for Feb (when it gets really cold around here) when the Mrs. and I are going south to New Orleans and some Mardi Gras fun.

My family will be going to Disneyland the 27 and 28 of December. Since I'm pregnant, I won't be able to go on all the rides, but it will be fun to go to Disneyland with my 6 year old niece. She is going to have so much fun. And Disneyland at Christmastime is pretty awesome. I am pretty bummed about not being able to go on the revamped Star Tours though.

My in-laws are flying into town and my mom will be visiting as well. I'm hoping to get some hiking and snowshoeing in, and we're going to pick out a dog for my mom.

Ah interesting, I'll actually be in NYC at the same time as you-- Squiggy (going for a few days... namely for Lombardi's Pizza and The Book of Mormon).

No plans, except church on Christmas.

Danoz, I'm glad you're getting home for the holidays!
