Interesting, and I like Bryan Q. Miller's work, but what's the point? The hook with Smallville was was Superman before he was Superman. Wouldn't a novel with Clark as Superman really be any different than any other Superman novel?

I guess I'm curious to hear more info to see what will set this one apart (besides the obvious).

It is curious that this is even happening but there were rumours that there was going to be a season eleven...which turned out to be false but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers along with Brian and Kelly still didn't brain storm possibilities just in case. Miller was among my favourite writers of the bunch and I loved his Batgirl run so if this does indeed happen I'll be first in line...errr ordering it from Amazon :)

That's a definite advantage to a novel; it's not limited to cast availability the way the series is.

Despite never having watched Smallville until the finale, I'd be curious about a Smallville novel. I love BQM's run on Batgirl, and if his Smallville work is similar, I'd be interested.

I am a little disappointed that DC isn't taking a page from IDW (with Angel) and Dark Horse (with Buffy) and doing a "season 11" Smallville in comics. But I'm told that the Smallville comics published nearly a decade ago didn't sell well (the trade collection isn't even in print any longer), and even back in the 80s the Superboy tie-in comic wasn't much of a success. (One oddity with the Superboy comic, by the way -- DC didn't have likeness rights to the actors, so even though the stories took place in series continuity, the characters looked like their DCU equivalents.)

I'm looking forward to this too, I was also a late-comer to the show but fell in love with it around the time season six was airing (thank you DVD!).

But I'm confused. You guys are all acting like this is the first Smallville novel. Wasn't there a paperback line produced early in the series run, or am I remembering some other show?

Nah, he's done a few movies and was the star for 10 seasons, he's not likely to be anywhere near as destitute as Pete's actor

Would Sam be allowed to record it in Jail?

So your're listening to Sam read Smallville to you, but if you listen in carefully in the background, you just hear the sounds of prisonrape.

Are there rules about independent prison labour?

Can the Warden farm the chain gangs out to just about anyone?

Would the state seize his wages?

They pay them like 15 cents an hour to work in the laundry...

Can the Prison contract Sam out?

Would he read the book aloud for 15 cents an hour, if the Warden was getting the surplus of his paycheck?

The funny bit is that he used his costume.

I imagine that he keeps the suit on his wardrobe at home for special occasions.

I remember people saying the costume looked cheap and like Diana bought it in a store. So it makes perfect sense to use it for a character who thinks she's Wonder Woman and dresses up.:rommie:
