Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

I'm really liking this show. I know most of the speculation is that the sheriff is going to turn out to be the huntsman. However, I'm wondering if that's a bit too obvious, and maybe he's going to be the big bad wolf?

If that's the case, it will truly be a rip off of Fables.

Besides, we've already seen the Big Bad Wolf. He was the wolf that caused Emma to crash in the premiere. No one's been shown to have any fairy tale powers in the real world, and instead are 'normal' counterparts. That would make the Big Bad Wolf a normal wolf, not a shapeshifting werewolf.

They've eluded to the Huntsman at least twice already, mentioning his kind heart despite working for the Evil Queen. The only character we've seen like that so far is the sheriff.

So if he is the Huntsman, wouldn't this be long after the Queen sent him to kill Snow White? I'm a little unclear on the timeline of the show versus the timeline of the original fairy tale (assuming the writers are even following it all that closely)...

Yes, long after, but the Huntsman wouldn't recall his past identity. Queenie, however, definitely does. Apparently she's the forgiving type. ;)

^Tiramisu?
Don't know what the techniique is called, didn't watch the show. Caught the show one night, when he was in the elevator with other guy(s) and bragging about his technique, and found out it was a running joke.

Or she doesn't know about his betrayal to her. She could just have assumed Snow White survived another way, or the Huntsman could have told her a convincing lie about how she escaped or was aided by dwarves/bandits.

But Jiminy Cricket was turned into a 'normal' human and we saw him as a cricket in the premiere. So the wolf could be one as well.

I liked the newest episode as well, especially that the mayor seemed to genuinely worry/care about Henry. It's nice to see that she is not just completly evil and I wonder when we will see the story of what happened between her and Snow White.
I also liked Jiminy Crickets backstory and the reason why he became a cricket. And I could've kicked myself for not immediately realising that the boy was Geppetto when the blue fairy said he would have to look for him.
Speaking of things I didn't notice: I took me until this episode to notice that the title card is slightly different every episode (this time there was a spinning wheel and I remember there being a fairy flying around in another one).
What was that down in the hatch, sorry, the mines? Was it the Queen's mirror?

Where the frak did everyone go? :rommie: Pretty good episode, I like the imaginative re-telling of fables this show is doing, much better than the plodding approach Grimm is taking.

Ratings hit a series low, but that could be the T-Day Weekend effect.
??? Isn't the show on Monday Nights?

No, Sunday. But I often respond on Tues or whenever because I don't usually watch the show the night it airs, due to zombies taking precedence. This week I decided to watch fairy tales and zombies back to back, which was a fairly disorienting experience. :D

Good guess. I can't think of anything else that's glass (other than Cinderella's slippers) and the Magic Mirror might have some role to play in the backstory of how the fairy tale and real worlds got mixed up.

What was on the piece of glass Regina threw into the mine? Looked like a portion of a letter.

Ah, OK, I thought it was up against Terra Nova. I do On Demand for Terra Nova, Desperate LOST Fairy Tales, and Walking Dead (And Sanctuary as well), which is all I'm watching right now, so lost track of the nights.

Cool, that means I have an episode waiting for me :D

I thought the mirror was transported same as everyone else. Did he not show up as a reporter for the local newspaper? I remember laughing over the Daily Mirror!

I actually found this ep to be a little underwhelming. I was not fond of the Cricket's backstory.

I did love that he put mama mayor in her place though. That was great.

I enjoyed the fact that the dalmation's name is "Pongo" that's the name of the father dog in 101 dalmations.

In one scene in the episode Dr. Hopper is holding an Apollo candy bar from Lost.

Yeah that was cute. I'm waiting for an Oceanic Airlines reference.

True. How could I forget Giancarlo Esposito? But maybe the mirror shattered and "released" him? That's no stranger than accepting that Dr. Hopper (hee hee) used to be an actual cricket.
