And....Dan Bailey, formerly of Oklahoma State, comes through for Dallas with the game winning field goal. That'll work.
Here's my totally uneducated playoff seed guess
Ugh. I don't have NFL Network at home (I don't have cable), so I never watch it.
I've often wondered why the coaches go super-conservative in 3rd and long myself. The way the commentators have explained it during some games is simply that the coaches are trying to avoid major mistakes. So rather than trying to throw for the 18 yards, they feel safer running or throwing screens/ short passes and hoping their player can make a big play.I'm not an NFL head coach, but I'm curious. Why do the 49ers insist on rushing the ball when they are in 3rd and 18 situations? I've seen them attempt this now at least 3 or 4 times tonight. Do they have that much faith in Frank Gore? Or that little faith in Smith?
I initially thought that as well, but on further review I believe the call was correct. He was interfering. The chop block is iffy, but I could see why they threw the flag. It was also unnecessary, I think he would have been able to throw the ball without the chop block. The second was the pass interfarence call on the interception. Ok, so there was some contact, but the dude was playing the ball.
They want people to watch the NFL Network. If their cable provider doesn't offer it, then they want those people to switch to satellite or pester their cable companies until they start carrying the network. Makes sense to me.I'm in the same boat (well I have cable but not the NFL network), but I've never have understood why they have decided to put these games out of the reach of so many people.Ugh. His arm was intentionally(by him) trapped inside the interception. He had no chance of catching it himself and the only way for their arms not to link would have been for the defender to drop the ball on purpose. Technically it might be a fair call but I think both were a bit overzealous.I initially thought that as well, but on further review I believe the call was correct. He was interfering. I figure between the NFL Network, and the NFL Sunday Ticket, they are slowly moving us towards the point where are all games are going to be either PPV or part of a package that you must pay extra for.
NFL Sunday Ticket you get to pay 350 bucks a year for the honor of watching all those commercials
Fucking greedy!
