    Exactly.
I felt the same for the Vengance of Moon Knight title that went 10 issues but then had a 3 issue Shadowland mini. Shadowland should've just been issues 11-13 and a point to show people Moon Knight. Thus possibly extending that run.

I hope the current title can last into the 20's at least.

I still can't believe "The House of Ideas" can't put together a Blade book that lasts more than 12 issues.

Honestly, if I were forced to cut down to one Avengers book, hell if I had cut down to just one Marvel book altogether, it would be Christos Gage's Avengers Academy.

    No.

Bendis's Avengers and New Avengers are complete shite that need to be cancelled or get a writer change.

    Academy is actually well written.

What fans? If the book was canceled that quickly, clearly not enough people were reading it.

You realize 35 issues is 3 years of support? That mini to wrap up was always intended to be the next arc in the ongoing. Marvel decided to honor the arc but tried the stop/start/renumber in an effort to boost sales.

The industry has been in such a state the past decade that a book lasting past 25 issues (2yrs) is considered a modest success.

The cancellation had nothing to do with numbers. Like the EiC said, it was done simply because Marvel had undergone a staff reduction and were left shorthanded and had to cancel books because they didn't have the editors to oversee them.

Punisher Max and Black Panther are also ending their runs...by the way feel free to discuss all things Marvel in this thread as it was originally intended to involve the greater banner of Heroic Age. Now Shattered Heroes.

IMO the current Ghost Rider title isn't very good. the writing has been all over the place and you have wacky things like Mephisto giving Johnny a giant spaceship which looks somewhat like a motorcycle.

IMO, you probably haven't read the previous Jason Aaron Ghost Rider where Marvel had stuff like kung fu nuns, underground satanist breeding programs or the anti-christ working for Wall Street. The current one is just following in its footsteps with the over the top absurdity.

Looks like I was at least partially correct in my prediction regarding spoilers for 600. Can't wait to get this later this morning.

Dang it, why do our work filters here block ComicVine?
I'll have to read that later or find it on another site.

read Fantastic Four #600 and thought it was great. it pulls together various plot points from the whole Hickman run, and even some stuff from the Fraction Mighty Thor series.

It really does. I'm just astonished how close my prediction was for the return of well...you know. I've never been this much of a Fantastic Four fan but Hickman's run just has ramped up my level of excitement and appreciation for them since he took over. I know he's maybe a hit and miss guy for some but to me he fundamentally understands the core of these characters...including Spider-Man. If Dan Slott leaves Amazing and Hickman isn't writing a gazillion books by then he should take over Spidey. Or at least be given a book because he writes a brilliant Peter Parker.

I almost got FF #600, flipped through it but decided my odds are good of getting it in a $1 bin at a show in January based on how many copies my LCS had.

It wasn't a cop out though if you've read previous interviews or read the run.

Then they shouldn't have spend an entire freaking issue with his funeral and his close friends and family mourning him.

This was a incredibly shitty cop out.

    I'm very disappointed in Hickman.

This and the recent issue of SHIELD makes me now think he is only a flash in the pan like Fraction.

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Disagree with you. They had a funeral and a wake because they thought and assumed Johnny died. As the second part of the issue showed Reed tried getting the body back. There was no "death" Marvel promoted it as such to generate sales. It was always meant to serve as just one part of a greater story. Sorry if you thought it was a cop out or didn't like it...but it wasn't.
