Interesting. It looks as if my theory that this really is another set of dual universes, rather than a reset timeline, might turn out to be true.

I thought you didn't like my theory?

I did write that, didn't I?

I guess after consideration of the last two eps, I've begun thinking that it's another set of parallel universes, rather than the timeline being reset. Which still leads to the interesting question of how that machine could've functioned in this new reality, if both versions of Peter died as a child.

The mind boggles.

^With only a cliffhanger episode left to go? Don't count on it.

I wasn't talking about Episode 7. I was talking about Episode 8 which we likely won't see aired until later on. But I think the end of Episode 7 will at least set some of the things into motion for the conclusion of the alternate timeline storyline.

I just think storylines like the alternate timeline is is like the Bolivia storyline of last season: meant to go on for a set number of episodes but not an entire season. They aren't meant to drag on for that long.

My theory covered that as well:

When Peter originally turned the machine on, he activated the machine 'over there' as well. Maybe he activated all the alternate machines in all the different universes that contained a fully assembled machine.

Continuity glitch, flat screen TV in the house that Walter hasn't used in over 15 years?

Well, the first flat screen TV came out in 1998. It was $10,000! So I can forgive that.

What I don't get is how the wife managed to cover all of her notes with a sharpie in 30 seconds without the husband noticing.

I gave the episode an Average rating. I enjoyed it, but the primary story line was much too similar to "White Tulip".

And, hey, I'VE never had a Sharpie that I could do that much with without skipping and drying!

That's a good theory, but it still leads to another question: If Peter 2.0 caused the activation of all assembled machines in the various universes, wouldn't the inhabitants of those universes (without an adult version of Peter) wonder just how those units became activated?

For that matter, how could they be keyed to Peter for activation if in fact, he doesn't exist in other universes?

Finally got a chance to watch it. Really good episode, maybe the best of the season. Good guest performances by Stephen Root and the actress whose name I don't know.

Pacey should have given Root a red stapler. I'm sure Walter would have one. ;)

So the black FBI agent was basically the red shirt tonight? ;)

So this is another alternate universe Peter is stuck in?

That seems to be the big question, DP. I'm beginning to think so. If it isn't, it's going to take some major finagling to reset the timeline to get things back to their original setting. As Ricky Ricardo might say, "I think they've got some 'splainin' to do."
