I could easily see Joss introducing Carol as a Shield agent (maybe she we be in the cadre of cameos Joss has promised) and goes through some kind of procedure to gain her powers. They of course can't tie in the business with Rouge due to Fox but he could figure out something else, and it's Ms. Marvel. Last time I checked Carol isn't married :)

Nice.
According to an article on IGN about all of the different comics based TV shows in development, Carol Danvers is a supporting character in AKA Jessica Jones, so if that goes to series we probably won't be seeing her in any Avengers movies. Although I guess they could just tie it in with the MCU and use the same actress and version of the character.

Yeah I forgot about the AKA Jessica Jones story...we don't know yet if these shows will be tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet or not though.

yes, we do...

Melissa Rosenberg tells Hitfix that she had a certain freedom to reference Marvel properties in her pilot script for the series as it takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "As we go along things will alter in terms of what is made available to us, but we're definitely in that universe. We are in no way denying that that universe exists. And as much as I can I'm going to pull everything in from there that I can use." According to the writer, Tony Stark and Stark Industries are mentioned and Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel) has a larger role in the pilot alongside Jessica and Luke Cage.

I wonder if being set in the Marvel Cinema verse will become a problem in the end, its more likely they wont be able to use a character, just incase the movie verse wants them.

I assume that they would coordinate all of this before hand as to avoid that problem.

in theory yes, but that is tricky with an on going show, and a movie franchise that has to feed 5 different movie series.

Do we really want move villains/heroes, being "he appeared in that episode of AKA Jessica Jones, but with a different actor" ?

Whilst yes you can plan for the first series, but you cant expect that to be the same for future seasons.

I guess Marvel are going to try, but I expect it will end up like trying to get Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures into the same timeline, which became tricky towards the end.

Something tells me we won't have to worry about a threat to Jones being something an Avengers movie will have to worry about, so that strikes out the villains. Villains don't always have to be of the 'super' variety, they could make up many depending on the story necessities.

And once they have their main cast together, anything extra they want to ad that will also appear in the movies will be well planned out.

I can't see this backfiring at all, it seems pretty straight forward to keep track of.

I really think the best way for this to work would be to simply set up specific topics, characters, and locations for each series to set up, with maybe only a few occasional crossovers.

Obviously. I really hope at least one of the live action superhero comic series makes it to the screen. It's been to long since we had a decent, successful superhero TV series. Well, there was Smallville, but that was the only one I can think of from within the last 20-30 years, and most people don't seem to like it. And it was on The WB/CW and I don't know if anything on there would really be considered successful in terms of the whole TV landscape.

well there was Birds of Prey but obviously that didnt last long, and Human Target on FOX only lasted a couple of seasons

ABC had Lois & Clark in the mid-90s, and that lasted 4 years, which in television is considered a success. There is also NBC's Heroes, which also lasted 4 years.

Heroes was awesome...Season 1...:alienblush:

Birds of Prey, too bad it didn't last longer, I enjoyed all of it, including Harley Quinn

Purple Man is the obvious choice for a big bad for AKA Jessica Jones (at least for the 1st season), and he is hardly an Avengers level threat (at least not for the movies).

There is a thread for AKA Jessica Jones. Shouldn't this discussion be happening there?

why should people be worried about someone appearing in AKA Jessica Jones played by oe actor and then in EG, Avengers played by another when we've already had the recasting of Rhodey and Banner?
