Why is it that people get bend out of shape when a asshole religious nuts say something? You can't say all religious people are bad because of some bad apples.

There are doctors and scientists who killed people, but do I say doctors and scientists are bad.

You really shouldn't grenerallize people base on stereotype.

No one has said that all religious people are bad. You're getting all worked up over nothing and possibly starting trouble in the process.

You're right. Not all of us Whovians are like that. Some of us have jobs, lives, friends, a wide spectrum of interests, personal grooming habits etc.

I liked it

Like others, I fail to see what Paradon's comments have to do with this amusing little cartoon.

That's a funny cartoon, made even funnier when I see people actually taking it seriously as some sort of insult/criticism. That said, if there's anything worse than the random spam phone calls it's the "door to door" approach. One reason I'm glad I live in an apartment block.

The sad part is, while this is a joke with the whole Whovian thing, there are those who have taken on Star Trek as an actual religion (whether they realize it or not). Back in the dark days of the early 2000s when Trek fandom was imploding this was made perfectly clear to me as I saw people referring to elements of Voyager and Enterprise as being blasphemous and apocryphal and against the word of Roddenberry. If they'd been tongue-in-cheek comments like the cartoon above that would be one thing, but this was dead serious. A few years earlier I attended a sci-fi convention and there were a group of people who had adopted a religion based upon DS9's Prophets. And it wasn't cosplay or role-playing - they were dead serious about it. To each their own, but that didn't stop it from being more than a wee bit creepy.

I don't think you actually read the first post.

Uh, The Doctor Who forum might have been a good start. That said, very cute comic. I also worship Doctor Who; I just wish they'd release the scripture a bit more regularly.

13 parables a year frankly sucks.
actually its 14 when you count the Christmas episode.

To say nothing of the 6 - 9 books a year based on the current series, comic strips in at least 2 Doctor Who magazines.

^ I believe that the term for those is Apocrypha.
quite possibly

more to the point, I am worried that if we treat Doctor Who like a religion, it would long ago have split into separate groups, each one worshipping one of the Doctors, as the one TRUE Doctor, and obviously there would be another group for whom the new series is not part of there holy bible of Doctor Who scripture.

I dare say one group may even worship Captain Jack.

Nah. Same man, different face. It is written.

^ The Ronald Moore heresy. A doomsday cult, I believe, whose members suffer in the absence of the light of the True Faith.
