Thundercats (ep1*10) *SPOILERS*

Captain Qwert Jr

Captain

Tonight's Episode: Oh Lord! They're going to try to impart a lesson again! Make sure your children are out of the room.

The Good:
-I like the elephant people design.

The Bad:
-Everything else. One day, when medical science has advanced to the point where curing schizophrenia and psychosis is child's play, we might have the wherewithal to understand the mental processes of the writers. Until then, we can only try to intepret their derangement to better protect ourselves. So...Perfect Harmony destroys stone. The best response to marauders is just to bend down, and take it up the ass. If you wait around, somebody else will solve your problems. I think the elephants forget on purpose, because they can't deal with Third Earth's reality.

The Ugly:
-The proper way to sell a Thundertank toy is to use it to blow up villains...or just anyone else.
-The Zoom Out function...lost to the ages. Try [CTRL -], Lion-O then [CTRL F] to find the rest of the magic rocks.

The bad:

I can't watch this kind of cartoon after I learned there were people called "furries" and saw the kind of stuff they like to draw. The kind of stuff that can scar one for life. Ugh.

This episode would have been a half-decent episode, IF it had come before "Berbils" ... Unfortunately, it didn't. So you've got a really great episode followed by a mediocre one, and then it looks even worse in comparison. No real lessons learned, no character development (if anything, there's yet another reset where Lion-O has to re-learn the same lesson he's already learned a half-dozen times).

I mean, I get it. "We're all in this together" and "Everyone is special in their own way
We make each other strong" ... I am not sure why they are copying themes from High School Musical, though.

Hopefully this is just a one-off and next week it'll be back to good or better.

I think the elephants are trying to represent a zen Buddhist philosophy. Ever see the pictures of the monks giving big bowls of milk to the rats that infest the temple? The elephants had enough to get by without having to harm any life until the Thundercats showed up.

I really like the designs as well in this and other episodes. Scenes like the kids jamming are different than a lot of cartoons (well maybe not Avatar...).

I'm afraid I've lost interest in this show completely. Too many cutesy characters and sappy, feel-good lessons for the kids, and not enough good storytelling or kickass action.
