It's not really worth starting a new episode thread, but I have to say this was one of the better episodes so far.
With the debate over frontier justice, the threat of banishment, and the uneasy feeling that something may not be quite right with this new society they're building, the show actually got kind of interesting and complex for once.
It may not have been much, but at least it was more depth than we've seen before in this show. lol

Honestly, I found the recent episode (the one that aired October 31) to be bland and by the numbers. So there's been a murder, the first one apparentally. The first suspect confesses right away and answers for it by being exiled. He of course is actually innocent, but is willing to take the blame to protect his wife. This eventually leads to the shady bastard somehow being implicated, but this is in fact a red herring and the real murderer turns out to be a meaningless background character who is quickly and summarily beaten and exiled. Meanwhile an egg is watched and evetually hatches bringing a baby dino-turtle into the world.
It doesn't help matters that it's nearly impossible to tell any of the soldiers apart, aside from Taylor and Lt. Washington. The soldier who died at the beginning, his murderer, and the guy who flirts with Jim's teenage daughter are all so similar in their appearance, and personality that as far as I'm concerned they are the same guy.
The episode did remind me of Star Trek again, specifically Voyager/Enterprise years. A bland drawn out plot which was only enough to entertain half the episode stretched out for more than it was worth with a meaningless subplot thrown in that neither added anything nor was it even remotely interesting or entertaining.
It doesn't surpirse me that this episode hasn't yet gotten its own discussion thread. It was so bad it doesn't deserve one.

There was something that confued me here. Josh accuses Skye of not knowing what 2130 was like.. Was it stated how long they've been sending pilgrimages back? I can't recall. Was she a kid when first going thru the portal, or born there or what? Why wouldn't she know how bad things were back home?
I agree. I enjoyed this episode for what it was. Terra Nova is getting slightly better every episode IMO.
I especially liked the scene between Taylor and the murderer (can't remember his name). The beating Taylor gave him was awesome.
Yeah that seemed odd to me as well. But it might have already been established that Skye grew up more isolated from the hard life, and we just aren't remembering the dialogue.
Well she told Josh she came on the Fifth Pilgrimmage with her parents who died and then the Commander looked after her (replacement for son who was missing at that time I assume). However the math doesn't really work. The date in the future is 2149. Taylor first went through the portal to Terra Nova 7 years ago and the first pilgrimmage arrived 100+ days later. So that makes the settlement 2142.
The Shannon family came on the 10th pilgrimmage (2149). Skye was on the Fifth Pilgrimmage(year unknown) which was also the same one Malcolm came on.
I'd say the character she's playing on the show is meant to be around the same age as Josh (17) so that puts her anywhere from say 16-18. Even if they sent 5 pilgrimmages through the first year (which I doubt) that would mean she came from the future when she was 9(at the youngest).
More likely she came from the future when she was around 10-12. So I think she would definitely have known what the future was like. It's kind of funny when writers can't even remember their own mythos and facts just a handful of episodes into their show.
Hmmm.... 2149 is a pretty horrible place, Josh had, I believe he said 4 friends who committed suicide (Knowing 1 teen today who did it isn't all that common, let alone multiple teens) due to no hope for the future, the air is barely breathable, population is out of control (This most likely means violent crime is pretty common).
Under those circumstances, I can pretty easily see, if I was in that position with a 10 year old child, that I would keep her as ignorant as possible of how horrible the outside world was, and do my best to keep her indoors away from it, and happy.
I thought this episode showed continued improvement with the moral dilemma. Sure, the execution was a little shaky, but, some heavy stuff was dealt with. And Taylor's beat down was great, as was his resistance to being proven that he had punished the wrong man with exile (IE; likely a death sentence)

I think that Josh was being a bit of a drama queen when he said Skye didn't know what it was like in 2149. Teenagers can be a little melodramatic especially when they're thinking more about themselves than anyone else.
