Will Start Shooting in January

Can't believe nobody's mentioned the obvious:

Star Trek XII: So Very Tired

;)

Seriously though I do think some of the titles already mentioned here such as "To Boldy Go", "Prime Directive" and "Federation" could work.

In related news, it won't be called "Star Trek II".

It'll probably be something that's already been used, then. They'll probably want something that's recognizably "Star Trek," and all the "Man of Steel"/"The Dark Knight"-style nicknames and associations have already been used for episodes and other movies.

"The Final Frontier," "These Are The Voyages," "Strange New Worlds," "Where No Man Has Gone Before..." Even just "Enterprise" is taken.

On the other hand, they could just say "To Hell with it" and go the James Bond route, where it's a series of totally unrelated titles, and the franchise-identification only comes across in the branding.

They still have "New Life" and "New Civilizations" as names!!!

Fingers crossed the second film doesn't flop! If it does it's means a third dark age (no new movies or series for a long period of time) for the ST franchise.

I've said since the first one came out that they should call the sequel "Star Trek: To Boldly Go"

Though if it's a Klingon or Romulan revenge story they can always call it The Empire Strikes Back...

I love star trek more than life itself, and i was kindof excited when the new movie came out a few years ago. But then i realized, they're just ruining the star trek experience. all the new technology and terrible characters, its just a disappointment. if you want more, new star trek, read the books. they're amazing.

I don't think it will take THAT long until at least ONE name is added to the existing cast. IF there is a main antagonist they are probably eyeing someone right now or they may even be already in talks.

Wonder what Abrams has up his sleeve for all the viral stuff he did for Star Trek?

How about

"Star Trek: It sure took us long enough?"

I mean, this was just ridiculous. A three and a half-year at minimum gap after a hugely successful start to a re-booted franchise is just ridiculous. It'll more likely be four.

Pathetic

I wonder how much lens flare THIS film will have. J.J. will have to work extra hard to top himself.

Trek 09's success pales to insignificance compared to Avatar and there are no firm plans to start a sequel to that. I think the wait is all part of the show.
