TWO Sequels to iD4?!

ID4 has so much corn and plot holes it made me wince...
I'll be damned if I'll subject myself to another go at it...

ID4 is a wonderful, obnoxious movie, but I can't say I'm excited about one sequel to it, let alone two. Similar stories like this have popped up before, so I'll just assume this is old news being re-purposed unless it's confirmed elsewhere.

Yeah, that story has been around since the movie came out, so I take it with a grain of salt. But why not, ID4 is wonderful, stupid, entertaining trash, make it a whole franchise with every iteration more ridiculous than the one before...

I love Independence Day for what it is: a super fun, brain-dead popcorn flick. Nothing more nothing less.

That being said, I don't give two shits whether or not Will Smith returns. Let me know when the real star is signed up to return: Jeff Goldblum. :D

I want Britain to save America from the invasion.

You should check out the Independence Day UK radio play. ;)

The UK doesn't quite save the day, but the BBC's Sky At Night presenter Patrick Moore goes hand-to-hand with one of the aliens, then figures out a way of evading the alien fightercraft before hopping into a RAF fighter and taking them on in the air. :guffaw:

Toyah Wilcox and Colin Baker also help to save the day but, unlike Sir Patrick, not playing themselves. That would have been stretching credulity. ;)

Holy crap, whoever coded that page needs to be smacked upside his head, then replaced by an average fourth-grader!

I thought the Apple was the real star of the movie?

I enjoyed the heck out of the first movie, but can't say I have any desire to see the story continued.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that ID4 was the re-purposed story/script for a planned Stargate sequel. Any truth to that?
