I'm still not 100% on the show, but it does seem to be picking up a tiny idea about the portal perhaps being 2 way and that Terra Nova isn't the last, best hope for humanity, but more a version of the Golgafrinchan ships
I said I'd give it half a dozen episodes before I decided whether I was pulling the plug or not, so it's got one more week...

Why don't they just hunt down the sixers like the animals they are?
The Sixers are obviously not very "Civilization friendly"
The only reason i can think of for even supporting the sixers would be that Taylor Sabotaged the Probe and they are there to stop screwing up Earth's history or something. But that is a long shot.
Screw the sixers, they used a child for their purposes, they are dead to me.

This show is bad, bland, and yet strangely watchable, I'm just not sure why. Maybe it's nostalgia for the mid 1990s when this might have been the greatest thing on tv!
If they ditched 90% of the teen/family angle I'd like this show a lot more. Still this episode was moderately better, though again I almost shouted Newt when we saw the little girl for the first time, and Mira's exposition seemed pointless, does she see Shannon as a potential ally? Screwed the pooch on that by using the little girl.

Yeah although they seem to suggest they can only send back at certain times.
I'm guessing that the idea that they're creating a new future/divergent timeline is nonsense given that if that were the case then every pilgrimage through the portal would come from a different future...

The writers said in an EW interview last week that anytime the portal is open, messages can be sent back.
What if the box is "another probe" that is sent through because they want to know 1000% sure that they aren't screwing with their own timeline?
It is certainly durable enough for that.

Finally got caught up on all the eps. The show isn't horrible...but it isn't great either. This ep was alright.

this show worth watching? im wanting something to watch over my break. i hope it's not like Lost where nothing happens every epsiode and i'm lead to believe something will happen next game.
I keep waiting for this show to get interesting and it just... doesn't. They tease intriguing notions from time to time and then go straight back to unbearable Sheriff Blandy McBlanding. For being the central character of the show, he's easily the least compelling of the whole cast. The teenage daughter has a more interesting character--which gets wasted on flirting stuff. Derp.
Might give it a few more episodes just to see if it improves. Lang's scenery-chewing is almost enough to keep me watching. They need more of that.

Pretty much my thoughts.. for a show that's been so hyped it doesn't deliver much. If it doesn't improve significantly and substantially i'll most likely drop it. Shows that expensive need to knock it out of the park Lost-style or i don't see a 2nd or even 3rd season coming.

I've been searching for a word to describe this show and I think "pedestrian" covers it quite well. There is just nothing new here, despite the interesting premise and unique setting.

By the fifth episode of Lost, I was fully hooked on the show. I've bailed on Terra Nova. It is absolutely nothing like Lost and not even passably tolerable. So if you didn't like Lost, you certainly aren't going to like this drivel.
