What is the meaning of your real name?

My real name is Randolph, but I've always been called Randy, which means "vulgar", which is not even remotely true. It also means "horny".

Uh....

Yeah, that's about right.:shifty::shrug:

Depending on whom you believe, my first name means either "land" or "spear". My middle name means "bear", and my last name refers to the female oracles of ancient Greece.

First name's a common noun but a relatively uncommon name and you don't need to know it. Last name is an Anglicized version of Allende, "beyond," although it might be a reference to the Alans, who lent the toponym to the Catalonia, i.e. Goth-Alania, region. I'm no etymologist, I can't say. Could just be Celtic, there are Bretons with the same pre-Ellis Island last name.

No, wait, I mean my granddad was a famous aircraft designer! That's tons cooler.

Going into the topic of family names, there is a strong possibility that my last name comes from a Roman plebeian family that arose to prominence around the 1st century BC (or, more probably, one of the many client families paying tributes to them who took the name themselves). But since there are no documents attesting a continuing lineage, it's impossible to prove it.

"Torbjörn", which is a viking combo of the god of thunder from Norse mythology, "Tor", and the viking and Swedish word for "bear".

"Raymond" yet with the French pronunciation. But it comes from old german meaning "wise protector."

My full name, in order, means:

Earth(or first man) Gift from god (:cool:) Peacemaker (or little peaceful one. Anglicized from the original Irish)

Apparently my middle name doesn't mean anything despite it being a fairly old name, since nobody knows its origin. :(

I saw it quite a few years ago, but my brain has the uncanny ability to retain any bit of information that can be proven to be perfectly useless in real life.

Thomas: In Hebrew, the name Thomas means Twin
Edward: In English, the name Edward means wealthy guardian
Hendricks: descendant of Heinrich, the German form of Henry
