The most disliked episode of ENT - Part Four

Okay Trek fans, "least disliked" has concluded, and now it's time for the opposite. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

I think we all know the proper answer for Season 4, but I'm afraid *somebody* would find it redeeming ("but I liked seeing my favorite TNG stars again...") and we may end up with a controversial decision.

Taking off "In a Mirror Darkly (I)". It was a good mirror episode, better than most ENT eps outside Season 3, and... and it had a very impressionable opening sequence. VOY never altered theirs, DS9 only made minor alterations, TNG did 1 big alteration (except for cosmetic changes like a title change, ENT to ST:ENT, and casting changes), so to alter the opening for 2 eps was incredble.

Saving "Observer Effect," which is, IMO, one of the best episodes of the whole series.

Saving the epic United, which was more Reeves-Stevens Trek at its finest. Optimism about the future and humanity (LOVE the line about humans getting along better than anyone else), some epic action, Shran, Romulans, Tellerites, great continuity touches. Episodes like this really make it a shame it was cancelled during this season.

"Terra Prime" as an example that humanity is in no perfect, and still has a lot of obsticles such as intolerance to overcome. Very relevant. A nice slice of action going to each character. Journeying to Mars covertly, off on a comet carries an awe-inspiring message about the future of space exploration out into the solar system. Liked how John Fredrick Paxton mirrored Jonathan Archer in certain ways. Ends on both a tragic and optimistic note for Trip & T'Pol. I never wanted this to finish, but supposedly it had to. Yeah, right...

"Kir'Shara" was a great end to a great three-parter. Finally, the Vulcans were fixed. There was some good action, good moments for Trip, Andorians, Romulans, great dialogue and a great ending.

In a Mirror, Darkly (II) - I loved the MU two-parter, so I'm saving the first part as well.

I had no idea they liked it that much! An explaination why it should be saved would be nice though. I'm always open to being convinced. If I'm not but the comments are fair enough, I'll generally not respond.

We once bandied back and forth ideas about how to begin a fifth season, without ignoring anything in the episode. Everything we saw happened but in one of those other universes seen in "Parallels". Troi and Riker left the holodeck, got back to the bridge and more inconsistancies became apparent, to suggest why this doesn't fit into "The Pegasus".

AFAIK, Mach5 hates TATV and this is a result of a stupid joke that he decided to make real, or bizarre revenge for someone saving A Night in the Sickbay. http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=149032&page=3 Which drives me crazy all the more - if crappy episodes are going to saved, at least let it be by someone who actually likes them!

Actually, I don't dislike "Bound" as much as most people seemed to. It had kind of a cheesy TOS vibe to it that I liked.

Divergence had a truly epic opening and first act with the two ships maneuvering together. It was also part of a great two-parter that explained another element of Trek lore.

Babel One - it's got everything I love about Trek (universe building, action, Shran, Andorians, Tellarites, Romulans, fanwank). It was an excellent start to an excellent trilogy. In fact, it should have been the first episode of ENT.

Saved "Borderland." I'm very interested in Khan and the Eugenics Wars, and I really enjoyed Brent Spiner's performance as Arik Soong. I also thought it was just a cool episode, and finally gave us Orions after four years.

Saving "The Aenar". That arc was pretty good, had some nice visual elements, blind albino Andorians, gas giant planet, Alien Bounty Hunter, err 'Romulan'. And Shran, how could I forget Shran.

Awakening - a great part of the best trilogy in the series.
