Stargazer Reunion?

GalaxyClass1701

Captain
Captain
I'm currently reading the TNG relaunch novel Death in Winter. It makes reference to a time on ENT-D where the Stargazer crew comes to the Enterprise. Pug Joseph confesses to Beverly that he panicked and that is why Jack died.

Was this a real episode or just a story for the novel?

I actually wondered the exact same thing when I read the book recently. I was a little disappointed by the fact that the relationships that Picard naturally must have had with these men who had been previously under his command wasn't as well developed as I would have liked them to be. They were certainly implied to be complicated relationships, but I didn't think they were written that way.

What did you think of the novel?

Never read this particular novel, but these characters we cam to know on-screen are sometimes written "out of character", depending on the author.

It's like some authors never actually watched a given show.

It could be put that Picard mellowed as time went by.

This novel was also a sequel to the first TNG hardcover novel, "Reunion". It tells of Picard's reunion with survivors of the Stargazer, and has flashbacks to the death of Jack.

When I read Death in Winter, I had this feeling that the Stargazer characters had "met" somewhere in another novel. This explains that--thank you.
