Drinking...

Tea, earl grey, hot.

Oh wait that was Picard. The similar levels of screen presence and charisma always make me confuse Garrett Wang and Patrick Stewart.

I'm not even gonna lie, when i saw "drinking..." i thought u meant something else entirely ;)

What did you think 'drinking' meant then? Or does the word 'drinking' conjure up some sort of ever so naughty double entendre for you?

What is this 'something else entirely' that you think of when reading the word 'drinking' then?

Actualy, yeah it does.

I'm sure you've got some sort of imagination, i'll let u figure that one out. I'll give you a few hints I'm 21 and i'm an alcoholic.

This makes absolutely no sense.

Alcoholics rarely make sense.

Alcoholism? Pishaw.

I thought you were talking about fellatio.

You all are aware that Synthol isn't alcohol and you can't get drunk from it?

Kim would have to have a still because he'd need a bit more authority to override the kiddy locks on the replicators.

Gods, they won't even give him real chocolate.

Unless you are BORG. :guffaw:

THAT is something Janeway never considered! That witch!!!

She should have invited the BORG Queen over for high tea and spiked the drink back in season 5! Then she could have taken over the Queen's transwarp coil and traveled home to the Alpha quadrant BEFORE Joe Carey and Lindsay Ballard were ever killed!

;)

That's something I don't quite get, Seven can't hold her drink... I mean she's an ex-Borg, and I thought Borg were resistant to all sorts of things: phaser fire, disruptors, biological agents, poison (i.e. alcohol). So why does Seven get drunk after one glass of synthol?

Are we sure?

I remember Tom sayng that he was going to replicate a bottle of wine for a date with B'Elanna... But we don't if in this case the "champagne" Seven drank in Timeless, which was a temoporal appendix that was quickly cut off by Kim was real, was replicated synthol or repliacated alcohol, which the captain should be able to do with her Command codes given the nature of the party... So Janeway doesn't know what a light weight Seven is in most timelines.

From the void...

NEELIX: For her third course, luhvian quail in truffle sauce served with roasted chadre kab.
JANEWAY: My compliments to the chef.
ALL: Hear, hear.
SEVEN: Thank you, Captain.
TORRES: Cream of leola soup, fettran risotto, luhvian quail. It just keeps getting better.
JANEWAY: I knew you'd been expanding your palate but I didn't realise you'd become a gourmet cook.
SEVEN: Preparing meals myself is the best way to ensure quality.
NEELIX: I suppose I should be insulted but everything is so delicious I may just have to admit defeat and hang up my apron.
PARIS: No, that'd be a real tragedy, Neelix.
NEELIX: Pinot noir, Commander?
CHAKOTAY: I'll have another glass of the Chardonnay.
SEVEN: Each course has been paired with a specific wine. Substitutions are not recommended.
CHAKOTAY: The Pinot Noir sounds perfect.
PARIS: Is there any salt?
SEVEN: Additional seasoning is not required.
PARIS: I'm sorry, I
SEVEN: If the quail hasn't been prepared to your satisfaction I could replicate something more to your liking. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, perhaps.
PARIS: Actually, it's delicious just the way it is.
It seems that Seven spent a lot of time drinking to confirm her suspicions about what bottle of wine goes PERFECTLY with which meal... I'm surprised that Neelix wasn't making a rough vodka or rum out of the leola root, but then what truely is "morale".

The replicator is perfectly capable of replicating both alcoholic and syntheholic beverages. We see actual alcoholic beverages many times.

Synthehol is meant to replace alcohol in alcoholic beverages while not having the same deleterious effects on the drinker, allowing on duty officers to drink or people who don't want to lose self-control.

Some individuals (Seven of Nine included) do not possess the enzyme required to process synthehol, and thus get intoxicated just the same as they would had they been drinking regular alcohol.
