Well, that makes sense, I guess. The difference between then and now is September didn't save Peter and Walter.

Still, it doesn't really explain what happened to Peter 2.0 when he faded from view. Are we to assume that while he was doing that, September was back in time, deciding not to save the child version of 2.0?

The mind boggles.

Good point, I don't know. I guess we'll have to trust that the writers will give us an answer.

Logically, that seems to be the only way that the adult Peter could've been erased from the timeline; if at that critical moment, September chose to not save him. The War of the Universes ensued, but if there's no adult Peter to run the machine, then what the hell was the point of the machine?
