Jax, I've asked this before but I don't think I was ever able to make you understand exactly what I was asking. So I'll try again, I'm trying understand what the demo numbers mean. For example let's look at CSI's ratings from last night. I think I understand the 11.81 million but the demo numbers are greek to me. 2.9/8. 2.9 what? and 8 what?

Thanks in advance.

best show on this day are:

Suburgatory
Harry's Law

H8R is doomed to cancellation even though I did watch it last night I like the miz from wwe.

A 4.4 /8 means that 4.4% of all households (homes with a TV set, not total number of people) watched the program, while among those households watching TV at the time 8% of them watched.

And good grief, Suburgatory is horrible.

Better than Up All Night and Free Agents. Yikes. For a moment last night while watching Up All Night--giving it a final chance--I thought was I was watching a drama about behind the scenes of a talk show.

Not. Funny.

Ok thanks. But now where/how does the 18-49 age thing figure into it?

FX's American Horror Story premiered to 3.2 million viewers and a total of 5 million viewers with the inclusion of its first encore telecast.

That is the percentage of 18-49s watching. The total viewers is everybody aged 2-102 or whatever

I only post the 18-49 demo because its considered the most important feature of the ratings by the networks.

Ah, so it's not represented here in the numbers Jax posts.

The 18-49 Demo number is the ##/## that's posted. It's confusing.

Now you've lost me. A few posts up you told me that represented the the number TV households watching as a percentage of total TV households. Now am I to understand that just the percentages of the 18-49 households?

Yes. I didn't realize that just the 18-49 numbers at first.
