Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Yeah, but they probably would want a different feel altogether for a reboot. Probably a minimalist score. Batman's 'theme' music in the recent films, for example, is like three notes, and that's it. and joker's theme is, uh, one note. Still very effective.

The problem is that our culture has almost beyond memorable themes

The last decent movie score to me was Gladiator, and this was 11 years ago.

Star Wars and Superman were the two major themes from my early childhood. I was two when Star Wars came out and three-I think-when Superman came out. Those themes are burned into my mind forever and I'm glad to have them there. :)

^huh? He's written some of the best scores ever.
huh doubled.
The Superman theme probably is the most recognisable movie theme ever!
I agree:)
And it worked very well in Superman Returns also.
Though now Williams has to go against his own masterpiece and do something equally great..and I am sure he will do a good score. Maybe we see some of the old notes there, too:cool:;)

I can't remember any music from Nolan's Batman movies.

Can't see any version of Superman with a "minimalist" score. Sorry. :p

Smallville comes the closest.

It's not even close to being a version of Superman.

Okay, it's not that close to being a TV show.

Interesting. See how his cloak and the legs and arms of his costume are the same colour as Superman's suit? And the greenish armour is as described in a story recently linked here.

Crowe looks like he could be appearing in a hi-tech sequel to Gladiator! But I like it.

I like that design.
More or less off topic, interesting fact: In a couple weeks they're going to be doing a "Wild West Festival" at a park in Glendale, and one of their celebrity guests is Noel Neill, the second Lois Lane in the original George Reeves Superman TV show. It claims it's going to be her last public appearance.
