Re: OT: What other franchises would you like to see the Trek authors w
So, first you impugn the professional reputation of someone -- a fellow TrekBBS member, no less -- on the basis of no evidence.
Then, to defend yourself, you in essence cite "secret knowledge" by claiming that someone close to the office made that judgment but isn't honest enough to say it in public, so you will. Naturally, this is unverifiable. And there remains no evidence to support your impugning of Margaret's professionalism.
And, frankly, Allyn, I've got to ask: At what point does spreading office gossip in public, even if it is true, cease to be "honesty" and start to reflect an inability to respect confidentiality? At what point does it just mean that one is not trustworthy?
You're right, Sci. I did impugn her professional reputation. The absence of novels is conspicuous. The movie continuity is being furthered in comics, video games, and young adult novels, but adult novels are off the table. At times, I wonder if Margaret Clark didn't somehow poison the well with Bad Robot.
Did you seriously just impugn Margaret Clark's job performance and professionalism by speculating that she soured the relationship between S&S and Bad Robot on the basis of no particular evidence right there? Seriously?
'Cos I'm pretty sure you just did. And I find it kind of offensive.
But I can't say that particular statement was original to me. It's not. It was something I was told. I'm just the one with the honesty to state it openly.
