Two And A Half Men (CBS) Ashton Kutcher!!!

Wasn't the UPS guy also on Dharma and Greg?

no he was'nt I don't know who he was. but I really liked guest stars. I was wondering who the first guy was he seemed very familar? I hope the show last I like Ashton Kutcher from the that 70's show. I was surprised no one from that show guest stared.

Yes he was.. he was the bad lawyer buddy of Greg.

Liked the Dharma & Greg cameo so much (even clapped when they appeared) but it turned to shit when they decided to turn over their whole relationship into the exact opposite in just one short scene.. they didn't deserve that.

As for the episode.. a big meh for me. Stopped watching a season or two ago but in the first seasons it really was a funny show (and to be honest Cryer was and is far funnier that Sheen ever was). Kutcher was ok but the character isn't quite there yet but that's to be expected after only a single episode... i'm giving them a few episodes to see if he's just Charlie Harper 2.0 or has his own character.

Looked it up and yes, yes he was. He was Greg's best friend.

He's also Bill Murray's brother.

I was wondering about that. I haven't seen more than a few minutes of Dharma & Greg but didn't think their relationship was so completely adversarial as it was portrayed here. I guess a lot can happen in 9 years since that show was on the air, but still it came off as overdone even to someone not terribly familiar with the original show.

Oh cool! I never knew that. He's been a good character actor and I like his work on Shameless as well.

and the first guy, as mentioned, was John Stamos (Uncle Jesse from Full House, if that helps?). Mostly funny because he was rumored to be the guy that was going to replace Charlie before they settled on Kutcher...

okay cool thanks I was'nt sure. and, my bad on the ups guy he's changed quiet a bit since the show. you gotta wonder if they hung out after the premier.

I thought the episode was terrible. The jokes about Charlie seemed mean-spirited, and the entire episode was mired in a type of awkward dark humor that didn't fit the show.

QFT It seemed like a big middle finger to Dharma and Greg fans.

Yeah I thought the opening was "off" as it seemed NOBODY really cared that he was dead. I didn't know if that was an attempt at "dark humor" or whether maybe it was an attempt at taking some more digs at Charlie (Sheen, not Harper).

But how much legitimate emotion and love did Alan or the mom ever show for Charlie in the course of the show? I would say they were acting in character. And Alan had that nice little moment with the urn.

A helluva lot.

But it's not surprising. At the beginning of the show, the characters were actually likable and human, but the longer the show went on, the more they became caricatures.

The John Stamos cameo was funny too, considering he was rumored to be in the running for the replacement character...

The joke about him and Charlie was pretty funny.

Alan had the one emotional moment with Charlie's urn. Otherwise, it was typical Men. That's the way the show has always been. They've always been offensive...I don't see how last night was anything different. I have no problem with it myself.

Plus, Charlie always made mean-spirited jokes at the expense of other people. Why should he not be the butt of the joke at his own funeral? That seems entirely fair poetic justice to me.

As a big Dharma and Greg fan (I'm so ashamed) I did not take it that way at all. I thought it was pretty clever. It was great to see them again, if only for a few seconds.

Overall, I thought the episode was okay. I thought they could have mourned Charlie a little bit more/better. I understand the subtext, but as a long running, loved character, they could have done better. Jake should have been more broken up, for example.

I do like the fact that Rose killed him. And that without an identifiable body, well....

I've never been a regular watcher of the show...I've only really begun to watch it since my local Fox affiliate showed it in syndication, so I'm probably not familiar with all the backgrounds of the characters though I have a vague idea. I've always kinda liked Ashton Kutcher, and wanted to see how the handled Charlie's exit from the show.

The funeral was played pretty well, and I thought the whole closed casket thing was odd, it does seem like a convenient 'out' if they somehow want Charlie to return. I almost pictured Walden being an anti-Charlie at first as well, till the end. He seems a bit more 'bumbling' than Charlie and a bit nicer to Alan. It'll be interesting to see how he and Alan get along in the long run, and if he's the one that comes to own the house in the long run and he'll let Alan and Jake continue living there when he doesn't even know them.

The last few episodes of season 4 for Dharma and Greg had things a bit rocky for them. But still it didn't feel quite right.
