Did anyone else watch the season premiere last night? Spoilers ahead if you didn't...

I thought it was pretty good, though the whole video camera in the office exonerating McGarrett was a little convenient. I did like the twist with Hesse helping McGarrett, though I was sad to see him go at the end.

I was totally shocked to see that Jenna was helping Wo Fat! Did *not* see that one coming at all! I wonder when McGarrett will figure it out--I hope it's drawn out a bit and not wrapped up in the next episode or two. This could be good if they play it out.

I think Danny's whole dilemma was resolved a bit quickly, and I'm not a huge fan of how that whole thing was handled. His ex wants him back! She's pregnant! No wait-it's the other guy's, and she's going to give her marriage another shot. Huh?? Sometimes these procedural shows don't write women realistically, and this is one of those cases I think. But I'm glad Danno is staying where he belongs--with McGarrett. :p

All in all, I thought it was a good episode. I'm excited for season two!

I stopped watching, but I tuned in just to see Terry O'Quinn. Good hour, but I don't plan to continue watching regularly. That hook at the end almost got me to reconsider though. I'm sure I'll check back someday to see what happens.

I watched the first 20 minutes of it and then switched it over to the Charlie Sheen Roast.

That was a really good camera. McGarrett's dad installed that thing at least a year ago and it's still recording ?

I enjoyed the amount of screentime Terry O'Quinn got--they certainly didn't take long in trotting him out and dropping him into the action. I wish they had added him as a regular instead of Masi Oka, whose geek schtick could get old REAL quick.

Good episode, overall. A little too much shaky cam for my tastes but I enjoyed how it all played out.

Both of these really caught me by surprise -- both the revelation that Hesse stabbed McGarrett to help him escape, and that Jenna is working with Wo Fat. I remember last season when they introduced Larisa Oleynik, the idea was that she might become a main cast member in Season 2, and I was surprised to hear that it was Masi Oka who was getting added to the opening credits instead. I wonder if this was always in the works or not? I guess if you make the audience think she's going to become a permanent new character, it eliminates from their mind the chance that she's either dead meat or a villain. :p

This, however, did disappoint me. I liked where the Danny/Rachel storyline was going in the last couple episodes, and the resolution was a total cop-out (no pun intended).

This was a really good season premiere, though. I'm definitely looking forward to next week. :D

McGarrett has truly inherited Jack Bauer's power. Wo Fat coming out of the jail like a T-1000 to revel double agent Special Kaye :bolian:

I thought it was great. I thought it would have been cool if Terry's character would have been named Jack Lord!

I think that would have been a bit too much. They have made a couple of little nods to the original actors, though. McGarrett's father's first name was Jack (as in Lord), and this week we were introduced to Lt. Gov. Denning (named for Richard Denning, who played the Governor on the original series).

I wonder if fan reaction to the character played a part in that at all. I know a lot of people didn't like her. I did--I thought she was kind of quirky and funny and added a different vibe. Everyone else is so smooth and hot and polished, and she was this kind of dorky, out of her element character. Which is probably part of why I totally didn't see it coming.

LOL, yeah, it was definitely a cop out. I was on the fence about this one. I wasn't a fan of turning Danny and Rachel into cheaters and the cavalier way they handled the situation with regards to their daughter. I mean, that poor kid. But I liked Rachel, and I think if they had stretched it out more over multiple seasons, it would have been much better. It felt like they were at some point going to get back together, and I think the show could have built to that. Maybe that's a cliche, but the way they handled it --with Rachel going back to her husband and us only getting a few lines of dialogue about it--wasn't really better.

    Me too!!

McGarrett may not have been guilty of killing the Gov, but he did commit several crimes he should have to answer for. Escaping custody, assault on a police officer, theft (the uniform), grand theft auto, etc.

The man should have plenty of jail time ahead of him.

Thats like saying Spock should have been dishonorably discharged and jailed for the crimes he committed in "the Menagerie". Not gonna happen!!! :p

I thought it was a good episode overall, although I do agree that new developments with Danny and his wife were crap. I've really enjoyed the Wo Fat arc so far, and I thought this was a great addition. I did not expect Kaye to be working for Wo Fat, it definitely caught me off guard.

I caught the second episode Monday night and really liked it. I think what I liked best about this show is just how much fun it is to watch--the action is outlandish but exciting and the dialogue is funny. Steve and Danny's bickering is always my favorite, and I love how the new girl just point blank asked them, "How long have you guys been married?" They really do bicker like a married couple, with Steve as the clueless and sometimes over-attentive husband and Danny as the nagging wife.

Speaking of the new girl, I really liked her. I thought it was cute how she and Steve went from making eyes at each other to both protesting having to work together. I like that she's tough and competent but her introduction wasn't like, "oh, look, she's the bestest ever!" Procedurals do that with new characters a lot and it's annoying, so I'm glad they didn't go that route here.

I'm trying to figure out whether Jenna Kaye is the world's best actress or if Wo Fat is holding her fiance hostage and blackmailing her. I'm kind of hoping for just plain evil (with a good motivation of course). I wonder when she'll be back, and when the team will find out that she's been helping out the enemy.

I'm sure Jenna will be back sooner than later. I really want her to be the best actress ever, and for us to find out that she's played Steve the whole time.

Also, Tom Sizemore looks like shit. Really a shame what he's done to himself over the years.

^Yeah, I'm really hoping we find out she was playing Steve and the team. The only thing we can definitely say she did that certainly seems legit is that she figured out what the poison was when Danny got sick at the end of last season. You'd think if she was evil evil, she would have let Danny die. But then, maybe the writers hadn't decided then that she was going to double-cross Steve. I can't wait for her to come back so we can figure out what her deal really is.

Tom Sizemore did look pretty bad, yeah.

This season has definitely gotten off to a good start. While I am dissapointed to see Grace Park go, I do like the new girl. But I did notice she was just a guest star, so does that mean she's not a permanent addition? As for Jenna Kaye, I'm not real sure what to think right now. They definitely want us to think she's just evil, but they like to do that and then have it turn out they were being manipulated or blackmailed or something.
