WIP - BBS-3777 LONG-RANGE STARLINER

Man- I'm liking this more and more. Seems that having a civilian ship outfitted with the ring warp drive configuration really makes it fit into the Trek Universe more fluidly. For me anyway.

I like it.

Well, I think that UFPS would have to be an old Oberth class ship with warp drive removed, powered by a couple of hamsters and a solar sail...

Odd. I guess UPS sucks in the States? They're pretty good here. I've had no complaints with UPS or FedEx...With the exception of Fed Ex ringing the doorbell on deliveries and litterally running to their truck. This is a consistant complaint I have with those pricks.

Our Canada Post sucks ass though. So don't do a Canada Post ship (like you were planning too, right ;))...

I've always gotten good service here in the US from UPS and FedEx as well... great ship lol!

I was thinking of UFPS as being the Federation equivalent of the USPS. UPS rocks, period. The United States Postal Service...not so much. :scream:

Thanks for the compliments!

to be fair, the USPS (as it currently exists) was set up to fail. a business model which has only ever worked as a government service, and a congressional mandate to support itself.

What, you thought Pan Am was the only buyer for this ship?

OOOOOOHHH! OOOOOOOOHHH! Do one with an "Air Force One" theme (yes, I know, don't want to clone a Colonial One) for the President of the UFP.

As an airplane fan, I like the connie nod as well as the registration: a nod to the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser (the first 'jumbo') I suspect?
As a UPS employee I too would like to see what our future aircraft might look ;)

I like that, it reminds me of the paint scheme on the 757 or 767. BTW I forgot to mention, I like the nod to 2001 in the first rendering (e.g with a Pan Am plane).

I had no idea that Pan Am went out of business. Still, it is good to see that they are still around in the 23rd Century.

And Fedex and UPS.

Actually, they're still in business...as a railway company:

I hope they one day take to the skies again...

its not really the same company. Guilford Transportation purchased the Pan Am name and logo in the late 90s, ran the third incarnation of the airline for a few years, and then rebranded itself and its rail holdings.

Never fear...late in the 23rd century, the estate of Carter Winston will buy back the name and logo rights from a decrepit holding company named Guilford Transportation for a mere pittance; equipped with a fleet of the new BBS-3777s, Pan Am will be reborn as the Federation's premier luxury transport company!

Well, I'm no expert in the field of aviation, but I don't think they're gonna get these things too far off the ground.

:)

With a big enough engine, *anything* can be made to fly!
