It's getting earlier! Not trees or decorations yet but the candy and gift sets are out.

Probably left overs from last year.

I saw Christmas stuff in Costco a couple weeks ago. The Halloween stuff hadn't even been put out yet!

Jeez, we haven't even seen Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff yet. What's next, Valentine's Day displays in November?

I'm waiting for the day there's dedicated holiday sections and they'll just sell this stuff year-round. We all know it's coming.

Yep, just saw a story on the news about how Costco has two full aisles of Christmas merchandise up already on account of the lousy economy.

It won't truly feel like Christmas, though, until we have the first thread complaining about people saying "Happy Holidays" or how Christmas celebrations are being suppressed. It gets me in the Christmas spirit like the smell of pine needles and eggnog.

When you say "eggnog" you mean nog enhanced liquor, right?

I was walking around The Warehouse (NZ's Walmart) and thought to myself 'it won't feel like Christmas until I hear the carols.'

Went home in the afternoon and my daughter was watching Dora the Explorer.

A Christmas episode.

Am setting up my tree next week.

With the economy we're in now, I'd have to start planning now for budgeting when, where, and what I'd get people for Christmas presents.

Hypothetically, because I can't afford to do anything but pick up cards for my immediate family. It's that bad.

Meh. Year ago, when I worked for a department store, I was in charge of the Christmas department. While setting it up, in the last week of September, I was, in the same day, screamed at by a customer for "ruining Christmas" for putting decorations (I had ONE tree done at that point) out so early, and then called a "fucking idiot" by another for not having ENOUGH Christmas ornaments out.

People bitch about it, but if people didn't buy the stuff like crack-heads on a bender, the stores wouldn't put out to begin with.
